I am just saying a lot of people go out of their way to say something bad about Michigan, whether they win or lose. That IS a hater.

Really? So as an Ohio State fan if I say something bad about Michigan that means I hate them? Hmm...I guess I'll have to work on that hate thing because, despite the intense rivalry, I have always had a great deal of respect for Michigan. That's not to say I've never "said something bad" about them (I've said plenty) but I do not by any measure hate Michigan. Their fans? Well that's a different matter entirely. tongue.gif

If it's an Ohio State fan, yes you can hate Michigan all you want. Trust me the feeling is mutual. But I agree respect is there, but I will never like the Buckeyes ever.

What if they gave you 100 million dollars? Would you like them then? :P

I think Matt Barkley will end up with at least 50 wins in his collegiate career.

Assuming the Pac-10 doesn't expand, that means USC will play 13 games a season (including a bowl game) and, at worst, goes 50-3 in four seasons. (USC plays a 13-game regular season in 2010, as they play at Hawaii, and with a bowl game, would be 14 games.)

$100 says he won't get to 50 wins.

He won't because he'll only play 40 games :P .

Not tryna be funny here (really...I'm not), but, I am just curious...

...How does one from Lansing become a fan of a team from a school in Ann Arbor when the Spartans, and the school they represent, are/were practically in your own backyard?

Because their fans are in my backyard too. They make it easy to dislike them, especially with the riots they have any time they get deep in the tournament, whether they win or lose. That is a reason to dislike them now, but I have been a fan since I was very little. I know I liked Michigan's colors and helmets much better, so that may have played a part in it. (I am guessing folks around here wouldn't find that too weird). Honestly, Michigan fans here in Lansing aren't too rare. I have a Michigan fan on one side of me, and a State fan on the other side (the State fan is an A-Hole, FWIW). I also work at a bar in Lansing, so I have to put up with plenty of drunk State fans, and you better believe I wear maize and blue every Saturday. So basically, I was too young to remember exactly why I started liking Michigan, but the older I get, the stronger the feeling is, and the more I dislike State.

Oh, and also, you guys are taking the word 'hater' way too literally.

When I went to Michigan last weekend (I overreacted btw) but the Lansing station, I'm guessing it was a State pre-game show, was airing traffic for travelers going to Ann Arbor.

I believe Brian Cook would class that as "resume voting". Or total lunacy.

As a general observation, Miami has to be the only school to play home games with baseball dirt on their field.

Not sure if that was common in the past.

Well, other than the Oakland Raiders.

Let's see. San Diego State still plays at the Q, they must have when the Padres were still there. Temple also played at the Vet, so they could have had base patches. Same with Minnesota in both the Metrodome and especially at Metropolitian Stadium.

There was no need for field art tonight, especially with the baseball infield and the Dolphins opener on Monday Night Football. Miami Senior High and Penn State called, they want their endzone font back.

It truly is revenge week.

Not yet. The stop on 3rd & 6 by GT to force Miami to punt could be an important play in this game. Even thought the Canes get the ball to start the 3rd, they came away with 0 points that drive.

EDIT: The Canes initial 2nd Half drive was big, but their defense must create a stop or 3. Then they have to successfully run the ball.

This would have been a great game in the old Orange Bowl. They would have already just run out of water and hot dogs. Beer sales would have ended at halftime with such a such to the urinals.

Buzz would have probably stopped a round from a "Miami Flyswatter" with his wing...

Remember it was the Orange Bowl. Even in 2003, there were no pat downs and if you dared to wear pants or cargo shorts, one could bring in airport btls of vodka to mix with their "Lemon Chill". Plus there was no open container law in the streets of Little Havana around the stadium.

Four great words heard on game days/nights after tailgating and walking to the OB: "Arepa, arepa! Kabob, kabob!"

1) Miami is for real this year. I wouldn't say that they're 'back,' but I think they'll finish top 10 this season.

2) Jacory Harris is my new favorite player.

3) Can you tell that The U is my second-favorite college football team?

I am the same regarding everything but #3. Jacory is one of my favorite players because of how cool and collected he is out there on the field. His emotions show the team that he is never worried, and I really think that keeps the team in it at all times.

Also, Randy Shannon is for real. I can tell he is a great coach and is going to resurrect this Miami program. The tough thing about Miami is keeping the players out of trouble, so we'll see if he can do that.

I am a "U" mark even when Vinny (and the team) blew the '86 Sugar Bowl! I am happy with the results so far, but they must do this in Blacksburg. Currently, Harris looks as calm and cool as Ken Dorsey did as a sophomore, so going into VT is important. The defense moved better from week 1 into week 2. They looked as quick as the defense as decade(s) ago. I will not buy the hype just yet, but it is great to see them play up to their talent. Coaching...that is another story, but it looks like Randy Shannon can handle the position better than Coker could in terms of recruiting and handling youth.

Also, FAMU: ESPNU is what Alcorn St: ESPN2 circa 1994?
