Sounds like Tiger's gonna be O.K., but man...

That's the shortest drive he's made in a long time.

And honestly, it's great that we can joke about this. The initial media reports had me thinking that Woods was in some big trouble...I mean, facial lacerations ain't no joke, but it's still better than what else could come out of a car accident. Good to see that he's OK, and I hope that this is as far as the story goes.

I knew this whole thing was too weird to be the entire story. No one just backs out of their driveway and proceeds to hit three or four things in the process unless they're f-ed up or distracted. Turns out Tiger may have been a bit of both. TMZ is reporting that Tiger's facial lacerations were actually the result of an ass-whipping his wife put on him. It seems that Mrs. TIger wasn't too happy with her husband's dalliance with another woman...allegedly. The car accident was the result of Tiger trying to get away in the car while the aforementioned Mrs. Tiger was making an effort to continue with the ass-whipping by beating with a golf club anything she could reach but mostly the car...allegedly. (How funny is that? A golf club.) TMZ also states that Tiger may have been on some pain meds leading to his "out of it" behavior at the scene...allegedly. Or maybe he was "out of it" because he took a 9 iron upside the head (speculation on my part.) In any case, there seems to be more to this than originally reported.

My favorite part? ESPN reporting that after the accident Mrs. Tiger busted out the back windshield with a golf club so she could "remove" him from the car. I'm sure she did. If true, this is :censored:-ing hilarious.

All that aside, I'm sure he still appreciates all the heartfelt prayers and good wishes.

Sounds like Tiger and Chuck Finley need to meet up and discuss life over a drink.

I just find it odd that he won't talk to the police. It's been 3 days now that he has decided not to speak with them. If it were any of us in that same situation, the cops wouldn't give a damn if we were resting or not. They would get to the bottom of what happened. Why are these Police officers allowing Tiger to dictate when they complete their investigation? It's more their fault than his, because I'm sure after an accident many of us would feel like crap. When I was in an accident a couple of years ago, I wasn't in the best shape and I gave my report at the scene. The more Tiger holds off, the more it looks like he has something to hide. I hope that's not the case, but it sure looks like it.

My parents work at CNN, and...they aren't really allowed to report this information to the general public YET, but they hear this unconfirmed stuff in the news room, and apparently, Mrs. Woods was running alongside the car and beating the s*** out of it with a golf club, and Tiger did a little off roading as a result. Supposedly the wife isn't all too happy because she thinks Mr. Woods is having an affair, or something. So yeah, basically what infrared said, but I might have added a few things. That's just what they've been getting in the CNN news room, take it for what it's worth, but we may be hearing the real story soon, and I think it's something along those lines...

1. The answer to that is simple, they're putting together a PR plan. If they don't play this story exactly right then Mr. Woods reputation will take a big hit. Personally, I don't think this thing will hurt his reputation in any way but I'm not Nike, , The PGA, Buick, Gillette, EA Sports, etc.

2. Because he's Tiger Woods. It ain't right but it's why.

Just to be more accurate ^_^

Actually, because the accident was considered a "traffic" issue, Tiger is under no obligation to talk to the police. If it was a criminal case, he and Elin would have to talk.

But it definitely is a criminal case. I don't care how rich and famous you are, nobody should be allowed to mistreat a fire hydrant like that.

The only new report i've heard is that the FHP are trying to obtain medical documents, Tiger has no legal obligation to disclose any further info besides personal information he's already given. I think the media is just trying to run with this one, and Tiger just wants to move on. We may never know exactly what happened...

Who the hell changed my topic title and added their own little smart ass commentary? If you want to change it, fine, but put your name on it. If my name is still on it, care to run it by me first? I took the topic title directly from the headlines I saw on both ESPN.com and the Orlando paper's site.

I changed it, mainly for the sake of smartassily reflecting the fact that Tiger wasn't particularly seriously injured. I've placed your original topic title into the subtitle, and if you don't like it, use the full editor on your original post to change it all back.

Don't worry, I'm not offended, terribly pissed off about it, or one of the people trying to make this less of a fun place to hang out. I just like smart ass comments attached to my name to be made by me. I am going to change it though...just so you know.

Woods fined $164.

On an unrelated note, I wonder if the Florida Highway Patrol is about to overhaul its fleet.
