I just can't see Brandon Marshall conforming to the Dolphins' Wildcat offense. The moment he realizes Ronnie Brown is his quarterback, and that he'll be blocking 95% of the time instead of running routes, he'll start punting footballs in practice and ask out or Miami.

And yet another bonafide WR the Buccaneers let slip past them. When will these people learn? Sammie Stroughter, okay, I'll give him a pass, he's still young and actually showed some promise last year (stop me if you've heard that one before, Bucs nation)...but do these knucks really think they can get by with the likes of Maurice Stovall, Michael Spurlock, and--shudder the thought--Michael Chayton for another year or seven? WR's been a need since like forever, and yet these are the types of players they keep trotting out year after year. Sigh...

If the Lions do end up picking up an OL in this draft (and many a mock draft are suggesting they'll do just that), these folks better at least pull the trigger on Suh. Give us something to be at least half-excited about.

How can teams sign these guys to deals without knowing what the CBA will be? What if thet next agreement has a totally different way of prorating signing bonuses, or handling guarantees, or if there's some totally new system all together? I assume it'd be like when the NHL put a cap in, and you'd be able to buy your way out of contracts that you couldn't make work with the new system.

Considering the Broncos had little choice but to trade him and he's one transgression away from a year long suspension, getting two second rounders, one of them this year in what's considered the deepest draft in years, is not too bad in my opinion. I can live with it. Hopefully Dez Bryant will still be available at #11.

Personally, I don't want him. Raheem has enough problems with the offense and dealing with the players as it is. The last thing he needs is a high priced whiner who's always pissed about never getting the ball and having less TDs than the defense. He'd end up like Randy Moss did in Oakland. And I'm surprised you still expect the Glazers to make progress with anything but their soccer team. Until ManU gets sold (that aint happening) or Glazer mercifully dumps the Bucs, we have no shot at any real high priced talent. Until then, we're stuck in Oakland A's mode. Don't worry, you'll get used to it soon enough. It's still better than the 90s.

And damn, difinitive proof that Jerry Jones' ego is as large as his new stadium. That's like footage of bigfoot

I do agree with him about Tebow, though...

It's called wishful thinking...it's a learned trait when you've been a Buccaneer fan since the late '80s. ^_^ And yeah...ol' man Glazer needs to let the team go.

Dez Bryant is still a risk for his lack of attention to detail and honesty. During his workout, he did not bring his spikes to run the 40. Unacceptable for a player who missed the majority of the season so he could prepare for this one day. In addition, he and agent Eugene Parker will attempt to even squeeze a team like Parker did last year with Crabtree. He is darn talented, and would have probably been the first WR picked last year, but giving him a $12 million bonus scares me more than giving Marshall his guaranteed money

Santonio Holmes- Age: 26; Experience: 4 years; Rec Yds.: 3,835 yds, 20 TD

Marshall - Age: 26; Experience: 4 years; Rec Yds.:4,019, 25 TD

Dealing for Holmes may end up being the better bargain.

Very good move for Philadelphia, pretty good move for Detroit.

There really doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to what McDaniels is trying to do in his time here in Denver.

PFF WLB rankings: 2009

Just saying.

Picking up a Top-10 receiving TE + a pick for a backup linebacker... I'm down.

I don't know anything about the guy, and I've never seen him play, but LB is a huge weakness for the Eagles, and people are talking about him starting right away at will, possibly even moving over to sam. I wish they could have kept Witherspoon for the weak side, but either way, this guy has to be an upgrade over Akeem Jordan and Omar Gaither. I'm fairly certain that if I adjusted my weight training routine a little bit, in a couple of months, I could be an upgrade over Akeem Jordan and Omar Gaither.

I think you'll be happy with Sims. He isn't great by any means in the passing game, but that's not his strong suit. Sims is best against any kind of running play designed to go outside the hash marks. He literally eats stretch plays for lunch. The problem in Detroit was that he is too small to play WLB in Schwartz's defense. He is perfectly suited to play the WILL for you guys. I will warn you however, he does have a history of concussions and is somewhat fragile. However, he is extremely tough and will try to play through the pain. So I guess in summary:

+

  • Violent hitter
  • Destroys outside running plays
  • Very tough

_

  • Suspect in coverage
  • Has trouble shaking blocks
  • Injury history

I wish Ernie all the best in Philly and hope he can turn his career around there.

The way the Steelers are signing backup QB's, you'd think they were worried about Roethlisberger.

Any word on whether or not Tommy Maddox is available?

Here's a silly question, if a Police investigation found no evidence to charge Roethlisberger, (even though it appears he has used poor judgement and might just be lucky that he had people around him to cover his ass) , how is it even legal for Roger Gumshoe Goodel to hand out such a harsh suspension of six games.

The league's Personal Conduct Policy does not require charges to be invoked. Considering that this is not Ben's first round of sex-related controversy, the high profile nature of the case, and the fact that charges weren't forthcoming because the police :censored: ed up he case, a six game suspension is reasonable.

Please note that a Union rep (for appeals purposes) was not present for Ben's tete-a-tete with Goodell.
