Well still a whole week of action left and the US has most of their opportunities in the first week so hopefully their medal count slows down next week. :P

And I've gained so much respect for Figure Skating, Probably one of the hardest sports.

That and figure skaters are tough as hell. Just as tough as hockey players, that is for sure.

0-7... OH AND FREAKING SEVEN

SHUSTER!!! :cursing:

If the majority of America actually gave a crap about curling, your head would be on a platter. In the last 3 games, he missed 4 potential game-winners. Really... REALLY?!?!

Oh and NBC's Curling to Hockey transitions and their use of Fred Roggin makes me want to punch babies.

This. x1000000000.

The Swiss team nearly pulled off another upset of Canada last night. It went to a shootout and Crosby buried one to give Canada the 3-2 win.

and using a medal point system (gold=3, silver=2, bronze=1) here's the top 5:

USA - 35 pts

Germany - 23 pts

Norway - 17 pts

Canada - 16 pts

South Korea - 13 pts

Except the IOC never use a point system, and always go most golds, with most silvers and then most bronzes as tie breakers! (None of that matters over here in Britain right now, mind, as we have no medals yet!)

Figure skating may have the appearance that it's totally lame because of the crappy music and sequined costumes and all, but anyone who can jump in the air, spin four times, and land on a surface that is only as wide as a few sheets of paper on ICE has to get some props. A lot of skiers and snowboarders struggle to land tricks with that many rotations and their surface area is about 100X bigger than an ice skate. Doesn't mean I'll sit down and watch it, it still has lame music and sequined costumes, but I definitely can't knock it.

Speaking of skiing and snowboarding, snowboarder Hannah Teeter, who lives in South Lake Tahoe and rides at the same resort as me, won the silver medal in women's halfpipe. Another South Shore local, Elena Hight, finished fourth. Way to rep the SLT, ladies.

I know it's the new big trendy "sport" to watch, but is anyone else completely sick of curling on TV? It's almost as bad as watching poker.

I know. The point system is my own creation. The media counts all medals the same and I don't believe that a bronze should count the same as a gold.
