nash61
Will people PLEASE decide on ONE abbreviation for the Blue Jackets? I have seen CBJ, CBS, CLB, CMB, and CLS. Which do you prefer, and why? On September 20, 2012 at 0:50 AM, 'CS85 said: It's like watching the hellish undead creakily shuffling their way out of the flames of a liposuction clinic dumpster fire. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. crashcarson15
CBJ because well, that's what I call the team more than I call them the Blue Jackets. However, if I had to choose one based on Columbus, it'd be CLS.
LMU
CLB works better for the city, since it's the starting letter of each syllable. CoLumBus

knnhrvy16
I've always wondered this, as I've never seen a team with more abbreviations than the Blue Jackets. I personally prefer CLB, because of all the ones I've seen, it looks more like Columbus. CBS looks obviously like a TV channel, CMB reminds me of cucumber, CLS sounds like some disease. Strange logic, I know, but that's what goes in my head The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. If I am to express them, it is not to say you or anyone else is wrong, and certainly not to say that I am right.
The_Admiral
CLB for Columbus, and while I'm in the neighborhood "CHW" over "CWS" for the White Sox. Baseball Prospectus uses CHN and CHA, which throws me. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Sodboy13
CBJ, WPG, HFD, CGY, MTL, NSH, WSH, ARZ, JAX, NYY, NYM, UTA, CHC, CWS. Those are my preferences, anyway. TopCat
Well if you take all the capital letters in "Columbus Blue Jackets", then it'd be CBJ. Plus, it sounds nice.CWS for the White SoxCHC for the Cubs? facebook | @thebugcollector

Just my opinion, but the team's nickname shouldn't get a spot in the abbreviation unless there are two teams from the same market. Like NYR for the Rangers and NYI for the Islanders. The Devils, however, should just use NJ. The_Admiral
I agree with that. Back when the Hornets were straddling, their abbreviation was NOK, with the O standing for Orleans AND Oklahoma. I think Utah usually just goes by UTAH. Might as well, I suppose. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I remember as recently as around 2003, they used UTH, depending on the station the game was carried by. Now I think every station uses UTAH. The opinions I express are mine, and mine only. Sport
I never knew there was a problem because of this logo:Never seemed like an issue to me.CJB?I have a friend (and fellow Blue Jackets fan) who still refers to them as "The Jackets Blue" because of that logo. I'm okay with CBJ, but if we have to do a city abbreviation then I like CLB. In speech I refer to the team either as the "Blue Jackets" or " The CBJ", I rarely ever call them "The Jackets".
