^ Sources say that deal (in principle) is eminent, targeting July 21st league meeting in Atlanta for resolution.

If the only thing left is the rookie contracts then it will get done and there will be a full 16 game regular season.

Neither side is going to be willing to give up games for a secondary issue.

Speaking as someone who has cheered for a team that has blown chunks over the last 5 years, I can assure you rookie contracts are not a secondary issue.

Rookie contracts have been a big issue for a while now. For evidence look at the length of contract negotiations that teams have had with high draft picks recently for evidence. It has Bern the case that early draft picks have ceased to be much of a bonus given the huge contracts that come with them.

This just in, James Harrison is ALSO a moron.

Soon as I saw "devil" was among his shots at Goodell, I knew he was gonna play the race card...and, I was right. He throws a gay slur in for good measure, but in particularly perplexing fashion calls Goodell both a puppet and a dictator? How can he be both?

Anyway, this guy's covering all the bases by shredding his commissioner, teammates and others around the league. Is he trying to be exiled from the NFL?

There isn't a player in sports I hate more than James Harrison. The guy is such a selfish idiot with zero perspective when it comes to how lucky he is to be making millions playing professional football. Some of the garbage that has come out of that fool's mouth over the years is absolutely unbelieveable. I hope that moron gets fined bigger than he ever has and suspended for this. What a worthless POS.

Between that asshat (James Harrison), Rashard "Tinfoil Hat" Mendenhall, and Big Ben and Hines Ward's run-ins with the law, it's no wonder why everyone hates the Steelers.

I know that this is not very well known. But I happen to be one of the people who cannot stand Troy Polamalu and feel like he's one of the dirtiest players in the NFL. After seeing this play live I never liked him: (I won't show the video here because of the title but

Once the lockout ends, I hope Goodell just fines his ass.... again.

No respect for James Harrison before this and still after this, guy is a massive tool.

Well, looks like Drew Brees is a bit too optimistic...

Sources: Not So Fast, Drew

This NFL labor deal has been up one day, and down the next, and then the weekend comes and it starts all over again. I'm still confident that the regular season will be fine, but I'm now getting doubtful about the early preseason.

...and, we're back on the upswing, but it looks like a big upswing:

We're not out of the woods yet, but it looks like labor talks have taken a huge leap forward today.

If the deal is reached Thursday, teams will have a 72-hour window (22-25) Where they'll be allowed to resign their impending Free Agents. July 25th will be the start of the Free Agent period and Training Camp.
