2011 NBA Playoffs

I absolutely cannot believe I'm about to do this (considering Heat schadenfreude is probably the most delicious schadenfreude of them all)...but LeBron is gonna get TOO much criticism, IMO, for a 17/10/10 game in the Finals. I can understand the crap he caught for his Game 4 performance where he was just terrible & I can definitely understand criticism for his 4th quarter struggles...but if you call 17/10/10 a bum performance, though??? nope.jpg.

I guess what I'm saying is that the criticism surrounding Game 4 was well warranted. The criticism he's getting for Game 5 (unless you're strictly talking about the 4th)? Not so much.

Do your worst, fellow basketball fans. :P

I agree, regardless of the result, he was in a personal "no-win" situation.

If they lost with his stats, then he did not do enough or the collapse which we have heard for the last 12 hours.

If they lost with him having better scoring stats, then he would be seen as selfish.

If they won with his stats, Wade would have been talked about for his toughness.

If the won with him having better scoring stats, then he would be seen as selfish.

I disagree. If they won with him having better scoring stats, he would have received much praise, and the MJ comparison-talk would have started up again.

I think most of the criticism he is getting is based on the fact that this is the :censored:ing NBA Finals. With all the hype surrounding the Heat all season long, it's fair game to hold them to a high standard. Yes, a 17-10-10 game is a great performance - but not up to par with what Lebron had been expected to do overall in the Finals. But I also think any criticism he is receiving is still a carry-over from Game 4.

He was a charging call away from 20-10-10.

He had as many rebounds as anyone on either team: 10.

He had more assists than anyone: 10.

He made more shots than anyone in a Miami uniform: 8<br style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; ">

LeBron:A-Rod :: Wade:Jeter. No matter what he does, is may never be enough because it took (or may take) the other to win a championship. <br style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; ">

I guess that depends who you ask, though. I HATE the Heat, but I will give Lebron props if and when he earns them. He still hasn't won anything, and still might not even after this season. He WILL get the credit he deserves, if and when he ever earns it.

If a 17/10/10 game (loss) is the best thing we can say about Lebron's performance in these Finals, after all of the attention he drew to himself and the team, then he really does deserve the criticism he gets. Again, he will get the respect he deserves when he actually earns it. A 17/10/10 game (loss) isn't going to cut it.

Mama, there goes that man...in Oakland.

Time to put the kids away & start making grown man moves with the Warriors. Time to clear the airspace between Golden State & the playoffs. Warriors missing the playoffs? NOT ON MY WATCH. He will teach these men in blue & gold the most crucial basketball knowledge one would ever learn: HAND DOWN; MAN DOWN.

Seriously though, Mark Jackson w/ the Warriors probably won't be all that bad.

I don't know why anyone thinks Jackson will fail. I think he will be a fine coach, he played under several great coaches and was an excellent point guard during his career.

I think Jackson will be a great influence of Stephen Curry too.

There is a greater chance that Jackson turns out to be more like Quinn Buckner, Ed Tapscott, M.L. Carr, Isiah Thomas (who was .500 his first year) than Larry Bird or Doc Rivers.

The Weakside Awareness blog has two post this week with the stats.

If Jerry West and others inside the organization did not want a retread coach, then that is their choice. However with West at age 73, GM Larry Riley at age 66, and the other basketball operations staff consists of a former agent as the new asst. GM, the owner's 23 year old son, and a player personnel guy who has been there seven seasons with little to show for it then they are very far away with little time with those experienced in how the league works.

SAC and PHX have also brought in agents to work in the front office and the only reason that such moves can be seen as a positive move is that owners know that a hard cap will be forced and scouting and player selection will be much more important than the owner spending their money.

Why Miami trusts anyone outside of the big 3 except Mario Chalmers to shoot the ball is beyond me. But then again, the big 3 basically stopped trying this game, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Didn't Miami win the title last July? Didn't they win the title this past May? I mean, I saw them celebrate like they did, so they must have won the title...

...right?

I'm sending a big middle finger your way LeBron, Bosh, and Wade. Enjoy watching Dallas hold up the trophy on your home court.

also, where will LeBron take his talents next year? Where will the talent pool agree to converge on so he can lose in the finals again?

Enjoy this Mavs fans.

So what does Miami do next? If this series has shown us anything, it's that three great (or 2 and a half depending on you how see Chris Bosh) players do not make a championship "team." Anyway, well done to the Dallas Mavericks. They earned this.

Technically, that would mean they trust 4 out of 5 players, right?
