CS85
Looked up some of the last known photos of Al before he passed, unbelievable he was still as active as he was with the franchise in his final days as he was 30 years ago - if you looked at him you'd be damned that he could get out of bed in the morning. Tough old bastard, icon, larger than life. Hopefully Al is upstairs running a 4.2 forty and sending his regards to the black and silver this Sunday. The man was the franchise. Jigga
While it's too bad he became a sideshow act the last several years, Mr. Davis is and will remain an iconic, legendary figure. He's meant so much to the game of football, and certainly the business of football, too. RIP. On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. NJTank
In the 1960's Al Davis was ahead of his time in thinking about the business of pro football, problem was he still thought the same way in the 2010's and became stuck in the past. It is going to be interesting where the Raiders go from here, Davis had such tight control of the team there certainly is going to be a power vacuum. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
DarkJourney
You have to wonder if his son Mark will try to sell the team or keep them and work out a deal with the 49ers to share the proposed stadium in Santa Clara

MadmanLA
You do have to think about the team's future in the Bay Area, and it was already somewhat in doubt even before his passing. Nonetheless, Al Davis left an incredible legacy and impact in the history of professional football in the United States.I'm watching the NFL Network coverage...no offense to the young lady anchoring, but where the hell is Rich Eisen or Fran Charles? She's terrible, and NFLN is the only network with wall-to-wall coverage since the ESPNs are in college football mode.

FiddySicks
Well, now the Raiders can hopefully work their way back to the respectability Al built up so well and tore down even better. I wont act like im sad he passed or that I'm even all that bothered he's no longer with us. The guy had a foot out the door for years, and both this past year or two. Bittersweet day for the Raiders, but I feel its ultimately a good one because they can finally move on.
