njdevs7
Found these pictures and found it odd...those Kings and Sabres jerseys seem so old, while the Hurricanes and Avalanche jerseys seem relitively new. Never knew they were worn in the same game. Any other games like this where you are surprised that jerseys were used together?

Ted Cunningham
Excellent idea for a thread. Those Buccaneers uniforms (as pretty as they are) are relics of an era of huge shoulderpads and floppy sleeves. The Panthers have the same uniforms now, so theirs don't strike me the same way. These images are from October of the 1995 season, Carolina's first season, and December of 1996. These were the only two meetings of these particular uniforms. (Unless these two teams met when the Bucs threw back recently? I cannot remember.) Doran
I'm trying to find pictures from any games where the Avs played the old Winnipeg Jets in the 1995-96 season, but no luck. But yeah, the years from 1995-1999 featured an insane turnaround of NHL jersey styles across a lot of teams. Uniform tracker - 2011 version coming soon...
njmeadowlanders
[Totally Kidding][/Totally Kidding]Seriously though:I know it was a few years in Houston/Tennessee but seeing them not play Jacksonville as the Titans is sort of odd.

DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Am I crazy or do those Panthers/Buccaneers match-ups look really good?
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
I think this would have qualified if they hadn't met in the Super Bowl later that season. It seems to fit the general criteria of the others: last year of a classic looking set vs first year of a modern one.
GFB
How about the teal Pistons uniforms against the old-school Lakers uniforms?

BadSeed84
I'm sure in 1992 thisvslooks out of place now.Actually I'm pretty sure in 1992 the expos (and royal too I think) just looked out of place in general since it was they were the last 2 teams still wearing powder blue uniforms. rmackman
Because of the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals, I often forget the Panthers played against the Avalanche when they were still the Nordiques: "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports
