bosrs1
So you don't think (despite the hype from NBC) that Phelps-Lochte has any drama? They're both Americans...Not really. Besides the a fore mentioned fact that there are 6 other swimmers in the pool with them, even if it were just one on one, Phelps has seemingly lost his mojo in the pool too.Michael Phelps edges Ryan Lochte in 200 IM for record 16th Olympic goldSeriously man, put those things in spoilers.Agreed. Some of us aren't in prime time yet...
The_Admiral
So-called enormous sports event happening in 2012 and we all have to pretend it hasn't happened yet. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
bosrs1
I don't think that's a ridiculous notion. Those judges can't be trusted. And even if they can be trusted they make blatant mistakes all the time. And when the sole basis of scoring is the flawed, and occasionally fraudulent individuals it degrades the position of the event as a "sport." There's little sport in someone else deciding how much they subjectively liked a performance and even less if that person can't be trusted. And as for synchro itself, it's nothing but a bunch of ladies dancing in time with one another in a pool. It's no more a sport than a broadway musical or cheerleading is a sport. And I say this with a friend of mine having been on the 2008 team in Beijing. Viper
Ryan Lochte ends up hitting for the medal cycle (at least one gold, silver and bronze medal each from one Olympics), which may actually be a harder feat to pull off than three golds.
