pcgd
I also believe the Rams on was on their logo guide, so it may have been done previously or later adopted by the team.Wonder what the Bears used.
erlovepuck
IIRC they used to market the Jets one in NY as "Chrebets Cap" or something to that effect because Wayne Chrebet was always wearing it on the sidelines. I still have it in green.
kajeet
If Nike had the exclusive license back then, I wonder if these would've been officially used logos or just fashion hats.
Gothamite
They were used on more than just hats - Nike had a line of letterman jackets at the time, some of which featured these logos. I think it's safe to say that had Nike been given the exclusive license, we'd have seen these all over the place. It's possible some of them would have jumped from being just merchandising logos to full-fledged secondaries. For my team, I'm glad that didn't happen. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Joshawaggie
This was kind of the start to the Vikings bringing back their current script over the horrible stencil script. The V started showing up more and more, then the full script. As far as using the V at midfield in the metrodome, I think it was only in preseason, and/or when the twins were still in season. @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats
FiddySicks
I had a black version of that Bucs hat when I was a kid. It was easily my favorite hat at the time, and I still wonder what happened to it. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) hockey week
I remember seeing that Steelers one A LOT. Was it used anywhere else but those hats? And I'm not gonna lie, I like a lot of those, especially the ones that are derived from the team wordmark, like Miami's I'll respect any opinion that you can defend. I had this one circa 2000:That's the one. My brother had (has?) the Packers version. But again, Nike didn't put their own logos on all these jackets. I know the Giants jacket used their regular helmet "ny". IIRC, the Broncos jacket used their standard horse head logo (although that had its own Nike connection). CrazyAnna
I found this Colts one.ah, the old "turn the horseshoe sideways to make a C" trick. lame!Looks good to me (your average consumer), so it isn't lame at all. The Pike
Gothamite
You can't be the average consumer - I think I am, and it's lame. You see that device in a lot of amateur Colts concepts, kind of obvious. Surprised Nike took that way out, not exactly helped by the cent-sign "I". The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Sport
Come to think of it, based on buying trends and consumption habits of today's most popular products, the average consumer would be a very good indication of what is lame. The Colts C turned to the side is very lame. It's just too obvious.

Discrim
I have that Cubs cap...granted, I don't wear it often cus my head's huge and it tends to look small on me (that, or I ate some middle school kid for it), and I remember most of those logos. IIRC for the Bears they just used the regular C. A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
Lights Out
Yeah, Nike didn't make alternate logos for every team, just most of them. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
CubsFanBudMan
I remember seeing that Steelers one A LOT. Was it used anywhere else but those hats?I seem to remember a friend of mine with a Steelers parka with that logo on it.Also, the logo pictured for the Cowboys wasn't a Nike creation. Tom Landry used to wear a blue version with a similar D long before the fedora. There was an overlapping D-C-star similar to the Colts one that I think came along the same time as these caps.
