It's a :censored: ing hat.

Thank you!

It's not a personal dig at his employer. It's a device used to shade the sun from ones face. The most egregious part of that cap is that it's a strap back, but like I said, young and dumb.

Yeah it's not like he's out on the beach mooning people or giving beer to minors or something else really bad. I would have issue if it was the Raiders or Rams, but the Niners don't even have any animosity toward the Dolphins at all.

So Kaepernick couldn't find a device used to shade the sun from ones face that doesn't say "Miami Dolphins"?

PFFFFFFFT!!!!!

Yeah good one. Miami in the Super Bowl.

You know how much sports gear I have Curt, so I think you know how I feel about it. It's just a hat. He's just a dumb kid with a great arm. He doesn't wear caps just to piss off Niners fans. he does it for the same reason I do. Because he loves caps. (BTW, he's from Milwaukee, so wearing a Brew Crew cap is fine). But as long as he's earning the right to wear these kind of caps, I don't think anyone cares what he wears.

You're not an employee of an NFL team, either.

A lot of teams are pretty picky over what team/venue employees wear around the building, even if it's another local team in another sport. It's a slap to the employer's face in the sense of "We're paying your wages/salary, and you're wearing/advertising another team's gear.". I can't imagine the owner of the 49ers being happy about this.

Not that I expect you to get it, though.....

Just ask Ronaldinho how extreme brand loyalty is. Coca-Cola terminated his multi-billion dollar contract, all over one sip of Pepsi at a press conference (in which the Pepsi was placed by team officials at the desks; Ronaldinho just grabbed the soda and drank it, über most to knowing what it actually was).

Yeah, every single Niner fan in the world had no problem with Kap's hat. They're all cool with it (/end sarcasm). You're going to tell me that there isn't at least one San Francisco fan face-palming at seeing Colin with the Dolphins hat.

Wear a rival company's shirt and hat the next time you see your company's president/owner.

Yeah because the 49ers are really gonna discipline the first quarterback to bring them to a Super Bowl since Steve young because he happened to be wearing a Dolphins cap while on his free time in the off season outside of San Francisco.

Can we please keep this in some perspective before this rivals the :Why I Hate Lebron: crowd for pettiness?

And I say they should cut him, and I am not saying this because I believe my team would benefit greatly from San Francisco's QB status being reduced to utter chaos.

OK Maybe I am.

It isn't like that. The 49ers and Dolphins are both franchises of the NFL. They are both part of the same company. It is like a fast food place. We will say Dominos. The 49ers are the San Francisco store. The Dolphins are the Miami store. They are "owned" by two different people. You know, franchised out. However, they both pay a fee to have that Domino's logo (or NFL logo). Even if their walls are painted differently. All in all they are part of the same company. It applies here. You shouldn't have a problem with a football player's hat trying to match his shoes. If you feel the need to, at least it wasn't the San Jose Sharks. BTW, I noticed the pic is on a beach. Not in S Florida, is he?

Because he's wearing a Dolphins cap? Please. He can wear whatever he wants.

He couldn't have just picked up a Marlins, Hornets, or any old teal hat to wear to the beach? Don't let this guy fool you. He caught flack last year for wearing a Milwaukee Brewers hat the same week they were to face the Packers in the playoffs. He knows this ticks off SF fans, but still he doesn't "get it".

And for those Frisco fans who see nothing wrong with him doing this, I HOPE Miami beats him in the Super Bowl this year.

Except he was actually born in Milwaukee and spent half of his formative years in Wisconsin. Not sure why people should catch feelings about him reppin' a team from a different sport in his hometown.

Then again, I think this whole Dolphins cap "scandal" is way overblown. We all know that aside from very rare instances, pro athletes are just as whorish as the rest of us and don't have any underlying loyalty to the company they work for. I know we like to pretend they do so we can pretend that the privately-owned sports teams we root for are actually representing us fans or our city, but Kaepernick isn't guilty of anything but breaking the proverbial fourth-wall that anyone with half a brain knows is bullplop anyway. Unless he's wearing Raiders gear or that of a division rival, I don't think there's anything to get too huffy about.

Would I be frustrated if I was a 49ers fan? Yes, but people are getting way too worked up about it. I believe someone here said "It's a :censored: ing hat"? And enough with saying a "rival" team's hat. It's the Dolphins. He plays for the 49ers. Is there any emotion one way or the other between the two? It's not a rival. They aren't in the same division, not to mention the same conference. If it was Seahawks hat, then he's probably being intentionally inflammatory... Actually, that makes me wonder. What would the response be if he was wearing a Russell Wilson Seahawks jersey? That I would just find funny.

That's an understatement. In an offseason where a star player likely murdered a person, I can't believe people are going crazy over this.

I agree he should not wear the hat of another NFL team. He could have worn a Heat hat anything not another NFL team.
