The_Admiral
Don't think this has been mentioned before, but Oklahoma State University's football program is under investigation by the NCAA for reports by Sports Illustrated saying that OK State paid players under the table to play. Some have received more than $10,000 during their careers as Cowboys. This all dates as far back to when Les Miles was with the school. Another startling fact is that the school had women have sex with the recruits to get them to come to the school. UnbelievableNo, it's completely believable. I believe there were stories a few years ago about Tennessee sanctioning student prostitution for recruitment as well. What it is is morally bankrupt and utterly repugnant, but certainly not unbelievable. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

dfwabel
Under Lane Kiffin, Tennessee got in to trouble because the girls were university employees* thus were not permitted to recruit off campus. A group of girls went to South Carolina to see Marcus Lattimore play.mr.nascar13, this has been going on for decades.*-Students working on campus and getting paid for their work? Novel concept. Also note who wrote this for SI. George Dohrmann co-wrote this. He also co-wrote SI's 2011 piece on Jim Tressell.Thayer Evans is also in on this too, who wrote last year's "story" on Tyrann Mathieu and is Pete Thamel's best buddy. Sports Illustrated, a once great magazine now barely hanging on prints a story which "little secrets" are known by everyone. This is not news. LAWeaver
Sorry if I misunderstood what ESPN reported. If it's known by everyone then why hasn't the NCAA heard about it until now. TalktoChuck
If I remember correctly, Colorado had some trouble with providing sex to recruits in the early 2000's as well.Yeah, that sort of stuff happens all the time, the reason the NCAA doesn't do anything about it is probably because they can't prove it happened for sure. Lots of he said she said, and little physical evidence.

From 1997 to 2004, there were six sexual assault investigations in Boulder and two co-eds were awarded a combined $2.85M from the university in settlements before their civil suits for sexual harassment went to trial. Things like this shouldn't be happening.Imagine how he's going to react when he finds out Santa Claus isn't real. Seriously, Senor Nascar, it's safe to assume that "things like this" are happening at just about every school in every "power" conference. It happens at the mid-majors too, but the main difference is I think there's a co-pay if a recruit wants to hook up with a "hostess."

rams80
It's Grambling. Not sure why...sure they're 0-2, but there's no way in hell they were going to do well against Louisiana-Monroe. FiddySicks
The 1-10 season last year pretty much sealed his fate. He knew he was on the hot seat, and the 0-2 start was basically the final nail in the coffin. That and the conflict of interest they had going on considering his son was the starting QB. Apparently it became somewhat of a distraction.Still a bit puzzling considering how successful he was there during both of his tenures as head coach.
