Alright, I guess NOW they'll mail the Heisman to Tallahassee, he won't get every vote, but he should have enough to win. Unless everyone suddenly jumps on the Jordan Lynch bandwagon.

Now that the cloud of uncertainty is gone, Winston and the Seminoles can get back to focusing the game against Duke for the ACC Championship.

One thing that bothered me throughout the whole thing: Why will until now to have these allegations thrown at him when it happened in 2012? Shouldn't something of been done, say, when it supposedly happen?

It's commonplace. Rape victims frequently wait a long time to report. It's a traumatic experience and our culture (which does blame the victim frequently) makes it even harder.

And that she timed it when Jameis got famous does not mean it was vindictive or some kind of money grab. It likely means that seeing him all over TV and radio continued to bring the negative feelings back and almost subliminally reminded her of it. Kind of the way constant Coke commercials makes you go up to the refrigerator for a Coke.

False allegations of rape are not as common as we think. The fake Duke LaCrosse victim is an anecdote and a rare one; it's too bad because she probably indirectly got a few rapists out of trouble.

I don't know what happened but the fact that it took a long time to report and the fact that there will be no charges (let alone a conviction) proves nothing (it does not have to...the burden of proof is not on him).

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Actually the victim reported quickly.

It was the Tallahassee police department that sat on it forever.

And your 2013 Heisman Trophy winner is........ Jameis Winston!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course a Sparty would celebrate.

Read the unredacted report for the history, she did what she acted quickly. As rams80 said, it was the police who refused to act. It took someone (a family member of hers/a former TPD employee/her attorney) to contact TMZ and have them use FOIA to look at the case which brought all of this back into the light. TMZ published their first report on November 13. That is where it was revived and a DNA swab of Winston was taken.

Not only were charges not filed, the DA did not even take the case to a grand jury and in his press conference that question was not even asked of him.

This is also a team which had WR Greg Dent arrested and dismissed from the university for his arrest for sexual assault in July, months after the Winston allegations were made.

Back to the action on the field...

Cincinnati lost a heartbreaker to Louisville tonight. Bearcats had plenty of great chances on defense to put Louisville away, but Bridgewater effectively escaped the same kind of Cincy pressure that was forcing key third down sacks earlier in the game and made clutch plays to keep Louisville in the game and eventually win it in OT.

This loss is especially disappointing for Cincinnati because A. They missed out on a chance to be a BCS ranked team, B. They missed out on a chance on a really good bowl game and will likely play in the Belk Bowl for the second straight year against the a mediocre ACC team, and C. This was the final Keg of Nails rivalry game for the foreseeable future, so Louisville will have the keg for at least a few more years.

What's more, Cincy REALLY wants to join the ACC (as does UConn), but apparently some ACC revenue-sharing agreement is making sure that's not likely to happen.

And by revenue-sharing we mean "15 and 16 teams are too unwieldy for football".

The Keg is staying at Louisville for now and for the rest of time! :winner: I know that they didn't win the AAC title (thanks to that second-half collapse against UCF), but I'm happy that they went 11-1 and hopefully win the Russell Athletic Bowl vs Miami or VT to improve to 12-1 (highest win total since 2006). I give props to Cincinnati for their effort in all 4 quarters of regulation but in the end, Teddy and Dominique Brown was the ones that carried this team to victory. The throw from Bridgewater to Copeland has to be the best play all year for Louisville and one of the best of the college football season. That play shows why Bridgewater is the top QB prospect in the draft. I'm going to miss Louisville playing Cincinnati for the Keg of Nails, but hopefully Virginia would help fill in the void that is Cincinnati when they move to the ACC next year (bye bye Maryland).

Tech is now projected to play Louisville in the Russell Athletic Bowl. That's assuming Miami or Duke take the Chick-Fil-A and Sun Bowl spots. Should be an interesting matchup, would probably give Teddy Bridgewater the toughest defense he's seen yet.

I would have to agree just like with the 2005 Gator Bowl, but look what happened last year with Bridgewater dominating the Florida D. For VT, they better bring the good Logan Thomas because if he was playing like he did vs Alabama or Duke, he's going to be in big trouble against a solid Louisville defense. I think Louisville has simply the better offensive weapons to win this matchup and having Teddy to play his final game in a Louisville uniform is going to end with a bang.

Please make it happen bowl executives. Then the board can officially have a "loser leave town" match, err bowl game.

Chris Petersen leaving Boise State to Coach Wshington. wow

Washington got themselves a great coach (and made USC look like complete idiots). Can't really begrudge Coach Pete for leaving.

I'm thinking Boise looks at Wilcox, Harsin, and maybe Koetter, but I'm hoping they hire Craig Bohl from NDSU.

Harsin has a buyout of $1.75MM at Arkansas State.

Wilcox has a decision to make which is to be a stay a coordinator in the Pac-12 (UW or USC) or take a potential offer to be a HC at Boise. If he remains a DC, he could sit and wait for either of the Oregon jobs to open, specifically if Mike Riley retires from Oregon State.

This can all be discussed in the 2013-14 college coaching changes thread.
