Our first big trade!

Masai Ujiri finally tanks the Raptors. Not sure what the Kings are trying to do.

Apparently Gay will not play vs. Lakers tonight. I was looking forward to him and Kobe having a shoot off.

Look at Gay's silly-ass contract. Getting rid of all that horrible money was an excellent move, especially for a guy who's rumored to be an awful teammate.

The Kings did their fair share of shedding moneys, but they ended up saddled with Gay's bloated contract. I'd say it's a wash but leaning toward Toronto.

Toronto's all in for Wiggins! Can't really blame them, mediocre franchise that has lost alot of stars that didn't want to play for them. And Wiggins says he wants to play in Toronto, that's gotta be a win-win for the Raptors.

A couple years ago on a short season the Celtics got off too a bad start and were written off, but they took the Heat to Game 7 in the conference finals. Nobody has a winning record in the Atlantic so fire Kidd and the nets can salvage this dumpster fire. They are still acteam built for the playoffs.

What, built lo lose? I see what you're saying but at this point the Nets aren't going to make the second round of the Playoffs, Miami and Indians are BY FAR the two best in the East. Not even close. The Nets, Wizards, or anyone else wouldn't cone close to them in a 7-game series.

I would welcome Toronto becoming a significant team in this league. Big-time unrealized asset. They have a national TV channel and they just use it to suck up the joint from Vancouver to St. John's.

Adam Silver said the competition committee is going to reexamine the usefulness of divisions, so they could be gone next year.

I wonder if teams would keep division championship banners if there ceased to be such a thing.

I'd be really happy for them to get Wiggins. Players don't want to play in Toronto, and landing a star that really did would be huge for them.

"Significant" as in media presence and market size, yes. But "significant" as a quality NBA team, being serious in winning from the general manager to ownership? Nope.

They suffer from the same crutches teams like the Sixers and Rockets face: they play in big-market areas, demographic-wise, but management "small-balls" their decisions to put a team which can compete for a championship. Conversely, teams like the Heat, Thunder and Spurs play for smaller media markets, yet have devoted team personnel who spend and make moves to the tune of "big-market" teams.

I don't understand what the "nope" is to. I'm raising a hypothetical situation here. Obviously I would want them to have good management as part of ascending to the league's top tier.

Interesting. I'm assuming the NBA would sooner revert to dual conferences?

Rumors are swirling that the Celtics are about to ship Rajon Rondo to Sacramento for Ben McLemore, Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Thornton, and two unprotected first round picks (2014,2016).

Seems like quite a bit, but a big three of Gay, Cousins, and Rondo sounds pretty nice compared to the trash Sacramento normally hits the court with.
