In what world is the fourth-largest city in North America with territorial claim to all of Canada not a major market? This isn't Memphis or Salt Lake City.

the worst helmets design to me is the Jacksonville jaguars hamlets from 1995 to 2012 because you can't see the logo vary wall

Unless Toronto has another team's first-round pick, they're putting a lot of faith into something that they have a 75% chance (or more) of losing.

They were probably only going to be an 7th or 8th seed at best. How long does a team keep following that path? Four years from now, what will mean more to Toronto fans? Getting swept by Indiana or drafting Wiggins? Also, this draft is not Wiggins or bust. Jabari Parker and Julius Randle are incredible. Marcus Smart has made a jump. Dante Exum is supposedly the best international prospect in years. If I was a Raptor fan, I'd be upset if the front office didn't throw this season away.

If players view moving to the biggest city in Canada the same as moving to OKC, it might as well be a small market.

To be fair, this is an ideal year to tank because even if you miss out on Wiggins, there's still Parker, Randle, Exum, Embiid, and Smart available. The Raptors are far better off trying to get one of those guys than sneaking into the playoffs and getting swept by a superior team.

Yeah, this is definitely the best year to tank. The only bad thing is that there are a ton of bad teams this too. Maybe the Bulls can get lucky again and pull another Chicago Simeon kid in the lottery.

It's also something where Cleveland got a Cleveland guy and Chicago got a Chicago guy. It's not like an actual lottery. ;)

Exactly. Hoping Silver changes that rigged BS they call a "lottery". Though it is unlikely, you can always place hope in stupid things.

Or maybe the team ahead of them in the actual draft will give the Bulls another gift, in the form of a boneheaded draft selection before Chicago's turn (Bowie).

Well, under the direction of Silver's early regime, the NBA Finals format is back to 2-2-1-1-1, and he's thinking of abolishing the divisional-centric season structure the league has.

So there is hope Silver ends the draft lottery, at least much more than hoping David Stern would.

Maybe the Wizards should consider tanking when a good Washington-born player is in the draft.

Looks like Omer Asik could be going to Philadelphia. Turner doesn't look to be involved in the deal.

The first 3 games on Christmas look like a wasteland for the NBA. Rose-less Bulks vs the sad Nets, Thunder at the sad Knicks, and Miami at the sad and Kobe-less Lakers.

This whole season is a wasteland for the NBA. Everyone's hurt or bad. Two-thirds of the Eastern Conference can't put its pants on the morning.

It hasn't been a bad season out West, though... a stacked, competitive conference as usual and plenty of exciting games. The Spurs' scrubs upsetting Golden State was fun to watch.

Forgotten in the yearly hand-wringing about how crappy each season is, is that the NBA really is a tale of two conferences. If you predominantly watch the East, of course you're going to think the season sucks, because the East always sucks.
