Kentuckiana teams:

Louisville: They're in without a doubt. Projected as a 4 seed or rise to a 3 seed if they win the AAC tournament.

Kentucky: They're in the tournament

IU: Not in unless they make a miracle run to win the BIG Tournament

Purdue: Unless they have a miracle run to win the BIG Tournament, they won't make it.

New York State!

-Syracuse: Stone cold rock hard lock In, probably 3 or 4 unless the ship turns around in the ACC Tournament

-St. John's: Living life on the bubble. Probably need a deep Big East Tournament run

-Iona: In if they win the MAAC tournament like they've been in first all year, out if they don't

-Stony Brook: Will probably choke in the American East Tournament like they always do, but win and in

-The 20-someodd other teams: In if they win their conference tournament, out if they don't

-Cornell and Columbia: LOLOLOL Out

-Colgate and St. Francis: Out via conference tournament knockout

NC's already been covered, but here's the state of SC's teams - I also find it worthy to note that South Carolina is in a 2 year drought after having at least one team from the state qualify for every NCAA Tournament from 1996-2011.

South Carolina, Clemson - Apart from an upset in the SEC or ACC tourneys, not happening.

Furman, Citadel, Wofford - Seeded 10th, 11th, and 3rd, respectively... in a 11-team SoCon. I don't see any team not named Davidson winning the tourney, so they're all out.

College of Charleston - Seeded 6th in the 9-team CAA tourney, so probably not happening there either.

Winthrop, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina - Still alive in the Big South tournament, where anything can happen.

SC State - going to be seeded deep in the MEAC and will need a miracle.

USC Upstate, Presbyterian - Eliminated from A-Sun and Big South tournaments, respectively, so they're done.

Basically... somebody's got to win their conference tourney for SC to have a team represented.

Great game between Winthrop and High Point.

Winthrop ahead against High Point, 59-58 with 20 seconds left... High Point fouls Winthrop's Andre Smith, who misses the front end of the 1 and 1.

HPU ball with 14.7 left, go downcourt and hit a floater inside. 60-59 HPU, 5 seconds to go.

Winthrop's Andre Smith takes the inbound, runs downcourt, gets trapped, lets fly a turnaround NBA 3 with just over a second to go.

MONEY.

Winthrop 62, High Point 60. Final.

This will be on SportsCenter tonight. Winthrop knocks off the Big South regular season champions... survive and advance!

Ohio Teams

Ohio st: They're in

Cincinnati: They're in

Toledo: The Rockets should be in already, going far in the MAC tournament should help them even more

Cleveland St: Unless they upset Green Bay and win the Horizon Tournament, they aren't in

Ohio: Out unless they somehow win the MAC tournament

Dayton: A First Four team at best

Wright St: Out unless they win the Horizon Tournament

Don't forget Xavier...I think they're in too.

As for Miami, Kent State & Bowling Green, file under "out unless they win the tourney" too

Xavier: right now is in, but the further they go in the Big East Tournament - the better (obviously).

Kentucky: In, but the more they lose they closer they get to being a really low seed - if they lose to Florida tomorrow and have an early exit out of the SEC tournament, don't be surprised to see UK anywhere from a 8-10 seed on Selection Sunday. A strong showing could get them to a 4 or 5 seed. If they win the SEC they'd probably have a chance for a 3 seed.

Toledo: I wouldn't assume they are in if they don't win the MAC. if they don't (win the MAC) it would depend on the other teams on the bubble.

Syracuse: Slippery Slope. On the bottom end of a 3 seed right now. They'll need some wins in the ACC tournament to regain their top form.

Wichita State: Really awesome undefeated team. They "who did you play" is the only question mark. Low 1 seed - if they Win the MVC.

Villanova: I think they'll get the final 1 seed, if they win the Big East Tournament. The problem with winning the Big East Tournament is there's this team Creighton, they may have to face again.

Kansas: Their body of work may not be enough to keep 'em on the one line. They have the most losses of the current 1 seeds on Lunardi's bracket. Stumbles by a power conference leader would open the door though.

Virginia: The Cavaliers will face at least one of the following three teams: Duke, Syracuse, North Carolina. So if they win the ACC Tournament by beating one these teams they'll likely get a one seed. Especially if they beat Syracuse again.

Right now I have Florida, Arizona, Wichita State, and Villanova as my number one seeds.

Big game in Eugene tomorrow, Arizona @ Oregon at 1:30. A loss wouldn't necessarily hurt Zona's case for a #1, but its better to be safe then sorry. Oregon, according to sites is firmly on the bubble. They swept the non-conference schedule, before starting off 3-8 in conference. They've won 6 straight since then, but none were too impressive; their best win might be @ UCLA who had suspended their 2 best players. Win against Arizona, they should breathe easily, but lose and they would have work to do in the conference tourney.

Also this happened last night:

First off, congrats to Harvard on clinching the first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. There's one bid up for grabs today.

Ohio Valley - Nashville, TN

#3 Eastern Kentucky Colonels VS #1 Belmont Bruins

Records:

EKU: 23-9 (11-5)

BEL: 24-8 (14-2)

For the second year in a row, Belmont has powered their way through the Ohio Valley and earned the tourny's top seed. The fans wanted to see a rematch of last year's thrilling final against Murray State, but the Racers could not finish the comeback against Eastern Kentucky, who has proven to be quite a thorn in the side of Belmont this season. The Colonels beat the Bruins in Richmond while the Bruins returned the favor with a three point win 9 days later. Which team will take home the rubber match between these two Eastern Division rivals?

UPDATE: The Badgers are still a lock...Marquette is now likely out (unless they beat St. John's today AND go to the finals of the Big East tourney, they're out)...and Milwaukee and Green Bay play each other in the Horizon League semifinals.

Anybody else think this is the boost the Milwaukee-Green Bay rivalry needs? (It has potential to be one of the great ones, almost as big as Badgers-Marquette)

Another wild ending in the Big South Tournament... Winthrop holds off UNC-Asheville in the last 10 seconds to win, 80-79.

Winthrop will play the winner of Coastal Carolina and VMI tomorrow at noon for the Big South Championship.

What a wretched effort from UConn today. Maybe they aren't as good as they were last year, but Louisville is a team that I don't want to face until late in the tourney.
