Wichita State is the Boise State of basketball. Just goes to tell you how a weak conference helps.

CHRIST ON A CRACKER.

The MVC is 11 in Conference RPI. Not great, but not a roaring :censored: fire either. Certainly good enough that you have to be pretty damn good to run the table in the league. Good enough that it has only happened twice-the 1979-1980 Indiana State team that was led by somebody called Larry Bird, and the 1985-1986 Bradley team that also had future NBA star Hersey Hawkins leading it.

They run the table, they've earned a 1 seed.

all that and they're virtually the same team that made the Final Four last year and gave Louisville a run for their money in the semifinal. They've more than deserved a 1 seed if they go undefeated and probably should if they lose a game, too. That and they're among the group of "everything Gonzaga wishes they could be" with Butler, VCU, and George Mason :P

Except in basketball you actually get to compete for a shot at the title.
And if it's really so easy for a team in either sport to go undefeated in a "weak conference" (read: "any mid-major"), more teams would do it.

Jim Boeheim goes livid after a close call goes against Syracuse, gets tossed with 10 seconds remaining. Duke holds on to win 66-60. I really want to see another replay of that charge call. We have a theme in the two games of Duke/Syracuse: Refs have had an impact in the final minute of each game (I Wonder if it was the same officiating crew for both games?).

I guess Syracuse can now consider themselves officially initiated into the ACC.

If you have a team in the ACC, you have seen the Duke call.

Syracuse, this was your taste.

Bilas was correct, the call was not what cost them the game, it was Jim's reaction to the call. Game Over.

That said...

1-When was the last time under Boeheim, which Syracuse played three consecutive road games?

2- I think UVa just won the ACC regular season.

3- The tournament committee has a big issue with UNC on where to seed them. They have five great wins (@Sparty; Duke; Louisville; Pitt; Kentucky) but questionable losses (Belmont; @UAB; @Wake; @Miami). Losing at home to UVa and Texas are not bad losses. Plus UNC never had their best player in P.J Hairston. On Selection Sunday, UNC could be out of the Top 25, but could easily be a 3 or 4 seed.

Aaron Gordon has been abusing the Colorado baskets tonight.

Some player on Colorado said they would beat Arizona by 20. Oops.

No kidding. It's irritates me when players/teams make comments like the Bufs players did. It's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, but to me, if a player is confident, you don't need to express that you will beat a team by (insert number of points here). If you must say something, say "we are confident we can beat this team"and leave it at that. Because, you should have that mentality in every game. It obviously got to Arizona team.

Looks like come Monday:

1. Florida

2. Wichita State

3. Arizona

4. Duke

5. Cincinnati

(I would say Syracuse could be at 5, with Cincinnati at 6, but right now, not sure how far the Orange will drop. I don't see Duke jumping Arizona, but anything is possible.) I still think they're a top team, but they loss to BC may knock them out of the top 5.

Yeah correct about the top 4, but Cincy lost yesterday, so I think Cuse will get the 5 slot for now.

Also, watching ASU @ Utah earlier, I wonder, how the hell did Arizona lose to them last week? Losing by 9 in Colorado and getting destroyed by Utah by 23 must've meant they were in line for a letdown week.

I would love to see where WSU would be if they had the schedule of a Florida or Arizona. Their one and only top 25 win was against St. Louis. Regardless if they run the table or not, I do not believe they earn the #1 seed over schools like Kansas or Duke.

This weeks rankings are pretty much what I thought they would be, Florida the new #1 followed by WSU, UofA, and Cuse. You can make a case to flip flop Syracuse and Duke, and I think if they would have beaten the Tarheels this week than Duke slides in at 4.

Where was all this b!tching when St. Joseph's got a 1 seed?

EDIT-Aside from a neutral court win over Duke, what, precisely has Kansas done OOC that is so impressive?

That's one thing I've learned about the U of A ASU rivalry. No matter where each team is ranked, the under dog always comes out with their best. I was pretty confident that we'd beat the Wildcats in football last season, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous the week of the game.

Speaking of Arizona State, uggh. So much for making the NCAA tournament now.

Last night's New Mexico State-Utah Valley game was big for the Wolverines... but, something else came out of that game. Much worst.

I can understand fans storming the court. It's the biggest win in the short D-I history for UVU. This gives them the inside track to the WAC regular season title and the auto bid to the NIT. The kid at New Mexico State, on the other hand... what a soreass.
