2014 NFL Offseason

And oh great, just realized that Denver gets to travel to New England for the third straight year. Why does the NFL do that?

Something with the schedule system. Seattle has to come to Carolina again for the third year too.
Pretty sure the Redskins and Vikings have played for 3 straight years and the Redskins have played the Rams for 4 straight. If I'm not mistaken they played the Lions for 2 or 3 straight as well

I was talking more about the fact that it would be three straight at New England.

Also, I like Golden Tate to Detroit. Good move!

The equal part about this however, is that if Denver were to play New England in 2015-17, then they would play three consecutive in Denver.

What's the reason?

Hold your horses. Revis' business manager says no agreement has been reached between Revis and Pats.

Can you just, for once, have a halfway decent source?

We did play each other in 2011 and 2012.

Well, yeah, I know they did, I was fixating on the divisionally aligned schedules there. I knew the more I looked at what I had originally written, and then what had actually happened, that there is no way what I had written was correct. As far as 2012 and beyond is concerned, Peyton was gone from the Colts by then so that's irrelevant to what I was trying to convey.

I'll explain the reason in a bit.

As far as the Revis thing, for once, it IS a thing. PFT reported it (twitter).

I don't use twitter and it's not being reported on any other reputable website, even PFT, who's twitter account linked to an article that isn't available through their main page. And considering everything else you've posted has been complete bull :censored:, it's not an efficient use of time to look into anything you've said. Idiot.

oh i know it is official, it was before i posted that, 12 mil for one year?? geesh id eather give him less for one year or get 2-3 years instead.

If I had to guess the one year thing is just to have an awesome season and get himself back onto the market at closer to the $16 million Tampa Bay gave him. Then again, that TB deal didn't have any guaranteed money.

..and Revis is officially a Patriot.

Oh, sweet. Good to see! That was so nice of them to do a years worth of rehab with Revis for the Pats on their own dime and draft picks. What an awesome friend (doormat) the Pats have in the Bucs. That type of self sacrifice for the good of others is such a bafflingly rare quality in today's NFL. So not only is my favorite team run by a bunch of stupid jackasses, they're also basically a farm team to the one team I dislike the most! God, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you guys just make me so proud to be a fan! SO PROUD!

I know the situation, as a whole, is probably annoying but for what it's worth, I think the new regime did really well here. I'd much, much, much, much rather have Verner and his contract than Revis or Talib on theirs -- especially Revis on his old one.

Revis could really clean up this year...look at the other QB's in the AFC East:

E.J. Manuel

Geno Smith

Ryan Tannehill

There's 6 of your 16 games right there.

Yeah, really, not that I don't love to be cynical as much as the next guy, but Schiano basically handed Talib and Blount to the Patriots because Belichick saw that Greg Schiano was an incredible douchebag who was ripe for the picking for good players at no cost. It's not quite the same thing here.

Yeah, it was merely chance that he ended up in New England, Tampa can't do anything about that. But as a fan it just baffles me that the Bucs really just lost another one to the Pats. Really? ANOTHER one? That basically wraps up an offseason which has already been quite a kick in the nuts.

This is basically the definition of the Bucs Pats relationship in the past decade.

I do like the Johnson and Verner signings, though. The Josh McCown signing confuses me a little bit (and horrifies me that we may do something stupid like draft Johnny Manziel), but we already failed with his little brother so why the hell not, right?

It looks like were basically gonna start off as Bears-Light this season. That does NOT sound fun.

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles have traded for Darren Sproles. It is not said who or what the Saints are getting in return.

Undisclosed draft choice is what they're saying on nola.com. Sorry to see Sproles go.
