That Red Sox one might be the closest we ever get to a 1974 throwback.

I actually like some of those other ones (A's, Orioles, Blue Jays, Twins) but some of the others? Woof.

Now that Diamond Era is back in the news, who's bought a bp cap and likes the material? I don't like how the crown stays boxy and won't shrink no matter what. On the flip side, it's lighter than the regular 5950 and it fits better (I HATE 5950 sizing inconsistencies).

If they're going to do a specific cap for the ASG, I think these look pretty solid. I would prefer the usual team caps, but these aren't bad. Only thing, though, is looking at the Braves...all I can think of is that it's a fashion cap. Definitely needs a white "A."

So players aren't wearing their regular hats in this game?

STUPID

Yep. It's just another attempt to sell more hats. So will the Orioles' hat just look like their usual home hat? Will the Nats' hat look like their BP hat?

If they keep this up, what happens when the Reds host next year? Every hat will be designed with their standard team color with their logo? Riveting

That means my beloved Nats could be wearing [gulp] this: http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-3537931dt.jpg ????

Every team's hat logo will have an unnecessary black drop shadow.

Well, Cincinnati is the oldest team in the league, so maybe they'll have every team wear some type of a throw back logo. Maybe DE versions of old caps a team used to wear or inspirations from an older era and whatnot. I can't say I'd be too terribly upset to see something like that. For some reason, going a bit wild with the All star Game doesn't bother me, and keeping each team's colors makes it even better.

When the Jays rebranded in 2012, one of my complaints was they didn't revive the white-paneled cap. I think these BP caps do work for the teams that used white paneling in the past. I agree with some others who think the non-patched versions may see use past the ASG.

Just my opinion, but I think New Era hit a home run with this concept. I love the Boston cap.

I'm getting this sneaking suspicion that these may be used by a few teams in games after the All Star Break as alternates. Why else would they sell the same caps with and without the ASG patches and stars?

So the Twins wore a tacky batting helmet (that did not even resemble their cap) for about two years in the late 1970s and it is now going to start a trend? Ugh. With the possible exception of the Jays and O's (probably because we've seen similar stuff before), I can barely look at any of these without gagging.

And what were the Twins doing with that helmet anyway? Why was the "T" white on a white background. And why add a panel to a helmet when their hat had no panel (see also, early 1980s Brewers)

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

I liked it much better later on when they went with all-blue.

But my point was not whether or not it looked good, but that there was no blue cap with a white front (all blue at home; yellow front on road; white panel on helmet home/road). It, like the late 1970s Twins, just seemed superfluous.

I may be in the minority but I'd rather the helmet be a replica of the hat being worn.
