StPatty33
This is 2.75" x 3.35". I ordered 100 of them to throw on hats and random junk. Not bad looking, I think! The blue's a little light, but the rest of their blue's were almost purple.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Final patches I received, and pics of my first attempt of transferring it to a hat: The below to be updated once the newest banner is raised! Cooleyvol
What company is doing this? I have a couple league logos I'd love to have done. What was the cost for 100 of them?
StPatty33
After searching around online for a while I decided to go with Stadri Emblems ( www.stadriemblems.com ).Total cost for 100 of these for me was $220, but a lot of that is because of the metallic silver thread and the heat backing, etc. The price can vary greatly by size and amount of embroidery you want (you can go part twill and part embroidery). They've been a real class act through the process, it goes through several stages of your approval before they go ahead with them all.I also got some hot Jersey Mesh hats, a huge lot of them on eBay for $1.95 each. I can't wait to slap these babies on there! The below to be updated once the newest banner is raised!

J23P
management should use this instead of their current patch. i remember when St. Patty first came up with idea. awesomeness!
LEWJ
Beautiful!I haven't really stated any opinion about this concept at all. So I will now I think it looks great. This would be GREAT as the crest logo of the avalanche IMO, and It looks great as the center ice logo, in the previous concept. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |
dustyb58
i would go so far as to put that on my Avalanche jersey, as a shoulder patch (well, upper-chest patch, where the anniversary patches usually go)

FiddySicks
Thats really sweet, but isnt this one of those things youve really gotta be careful about the legality of? Not tryin to bust your parade or rain on your balloon or whatnot, but are you gonna be giving these away or selling em? Cause if your selling em couldnt the Lanche take up a stink over it? And again, not tryin to be the downer, just tryin to look out for your best interests. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) StPatty33
Good question. I understand where you're coming from, and appreciate your concern. While the intent has never been to turn a profit on these (as I mentioned before, I'm working on a proposal to the Avs themselves anyway), I don't personally see how they could bust me on this if for some reason I did want to sell them. It's a completely original work. Can you say a logo is infringing on the copyright of another because it's done in a similar style and colors, even though the subject matter and execution is different? Maybe the answer is yes, I don't know. That seems pretty ridiculous to me though. The below to be updated once the newest banner is raised! You are presenting it as a Colorado Avalanche logo, done up in the same colors and style as the current logo.In theory, the Avalanche most likely could pursue legal action against you. Whether they will, probably not, since you didn't intend to market them as such, but I think the law would swing in their favor.Sorry to bust your bubble on this. It is a nice logo, with the exception of the puck's perspective being off from the rest of it. Now id say (and you wont hear this from ANYONE often, or probably ever again) do as P.I.L.L/Prologo does and market this as the Denver Independent Hockey Team or something. Using this and selling it as Colorado Avalanche merch, as slapshot said while not likely considering the small number your selling and all other things considering, could get you in a bit of trouble, or at least some negative notice from the club. Now I cant quote him exactly but I think that when Sterling's Moose concept was purchased by the team he lost all rights to it as his own work because it technically wasnt his any longer. In fact I think they gave him explicit instructions stating just how serious they were about that. So yeah, basically, teams dont take too kindly to people selling something under their name that they dont get a cut of, and often wont even let the designer touch the option of his own merchandising with a ten foot poll once they own the rights. And again, not hating. Its an awesome logo. Just informing you of the little I understand of it. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Two, actually.First, P.I.L.L.'s logos looked really nothing like the real Nationals logos. They both contained a representation of the Capitol building, but that's about it. P.I.L.L.'s logos went off in a different direction. He tried to originally market them as alternate Nationals logos, but no one was going to confuse them for the real thing, or probably even associate them as part of the same package as this Avalanche logo could. And second, this logo is good. That's the other difference right there. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
musikology
Very nice, I just haven't figured out where I stand on this. Companies are usually very strict with the representation of their logos for print and distribution. They usually like to break out the ol' Pantone book for colors. So, on one hand, you have original artwork, but on the other, what is the inspiration for the artwork? I find it being a paradox of sorts. I think it's great, and would hope with some tweaking that the Avs might even like to use it. But the intellectual property issue is a slippery slope. I would love to have one to put on a hat, becuase I can appreciate it for what it is. Bottom line is, you have given us an extension for our Jersey Wallpaper inspirations, whether for a fantasy team, alternate logo, etc. I would hope that there are other embroidery companies out there that can better match the colors for an affordable price.Once again, great work, great initiative. It is a nice logo, with the exception of the puck's perspective being off from the rest of it.Certainly. I could drop a cleveland steamer on the ice and if I presented it as an Avalanche logo, I'm already infringing on copyright. As we said, this really doesn't have anything to do with this particular situation, as I don't plan on profiting off the logo. The question of legality is an interesting one, though. If I just threw this logo out there with no wordmark or anything and people wanted to buy it without me claiming any connection to the Avs, I still say it's different enough to where I'd be safe from legal ramifications. Can the Boston Bruins sue the Montana Grizzlies for using the front face of a bear as their logo, in a similar style to their secondary logo? Can the Blackhawks sue the Redskins (or vice versa)? If you just refresh the main Sportslogos.net page a few times, looking at the random logos, you'll see plenty of logos that could be infringing on each other, that have piggy backed off of styles and fads that make them look suspiciously similar.I think the key here is whether or not an original logo is presented as being representative of an entity that it's not legally allowed to represent. FiddySicks
But the thing is, this is in a sense being presented as an Avalanche concept. Its a complicated one, and theres a lot of grey area, so that was my main reason for the Independent idea. But slapshot is right, it does bare more similarities to the current lanche set than the DC logos did to the Nats set. So in that sense, presenting it as a shoulder patch to the team would work brilliantly. But, like I said, if thats the case any potential profit to you in any way could stir up issue.Oh yeah and JP's second point was on the money too.
