JasonFromMiami
I see, classic teams like the Braves need to spend some money imo, would be nice to see them in the postseason again - - payroll last year was $110,897,341......14th in the league, not exactly cheapskates
HedleyLamarr
You don't spend money you don't have, dude. The Braves will be spending money on 42 players for their their 40-man roster (or 27 for their 25 MLB active roster), assuming BJ Upton gets traded or released. Tigers6884
The Detroit Tigers would be stupid if they traded Rick Porcello, a young pitcher whose best years are ahead of him, for Yoenis Cespedes, a player who's only good for his bat in the lineup. Not to mention that Cespedes ego could be a real clubhouse cancer for the Tigers. I wish Scherzer would make up his mind over wether or not to resign with Detroit, because he's starting to aggravate me. Either let the team know that you want to stay, or leave town. Don't make our ball club blow themselves up in order to keep you. Neither Porcello or Price deserve the anxiety of trade rumors, they're both good clubhouse guys who are under contract for next season. I wish the Tigers could just dump Verlander's awful contract, but no team in their right mind would want him (I have nothing against him personally, but he's lost his stuff). FiddySicks
Is Cespedes really known as being a clubhouse cancer? I've never heard a single report about that bring the case, and from everything I've heard, his team mates in Oakland were pretty broken up to see him go. I mean sure, he probably didn't talk to guys like Josh Donaldson or Josh Reddick much, but he lacks the basic understanding of this little pesky thing called English. Personally, I'd currently like Price and Porcello over Scherzer, but both guys are FAs next year, and we risk losing both plus Scherzer this year. I love Porcello, but part of me thinks last year's consistency was a fluke. If at all possible, trade Greene and/or Porcello and a prospect for Cespedes. FiddySicks
A's trade Brandon Moss to the Indians for nothing, and Jason Hammel resigns with the Cubs. Like I said a week or so ago. Just fold already, A's. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)

FiddySicks
From reports I'm hearing, it sounds like Jon Lester is about to make a decision on where to sign. It could happen as soon as tonight.Apparently, it was between the Cubs and Red Sox with the Giants a bit behind in third. But then, Buster Posey joined the Giants brass when they met with Lester last night, and he may have just swung this battle in San Francisco's favor. All indications are that it's down to the Giants and Cubs now. If the money is similar, I just can't see Lester passing up an opportunity to work with Bochy and Posey in favor of an early start to golf season. If the money is similar, I just can't see Lester passing up an opportunity to work with Bochy and Posey in favor of an early start to golf season. If history repeats itself (as it did in 2011 and 2013), your beloved Giants will be missing the playoffs in 2015; at the very least they're no lock for October considering they're in a division with the Dodgers and the potentially improved Padres and Diamondbacks.I'm not saying that the Cubs would be a lock for the postseason with Lester, but I am saying that it's premature to count them out already, and that the Giants most certainly wouldn't be a lock, themselves.
