2013 MLB Logo and Uniform Changes

By the way, not sure if anything has been posted about the Stan Musial patch the Cardinals will wear. They haven't worn anything during ST.

But I took this photo maybe 6 weeks ago on the backside of the scoreboard (facing the street). I assumed this would be the patch, but forgot to post it.

But then the cover of the Cardinals 2013 scorecard got posted and it showed this.

So it's basically the same thing, but with Stan's signature over the top.

It appears to me to be a white circle with a thick red outline. A red 6 outlined in navy, and then Stan's signature in navy. It's possible there is a thin navy outline around the whole patch, too, I'm not sure.

The Giants gold trim jerseys will be based on the road alternate!

Man I wish so hard that jersey was orange rather than cream, but it's hard to complain about a championship jersey.

I REALLY hope this doesn't lead to the Giants adding plackett piping to their regular home jerseys. But, if they made a home alt that was similar to the road in everything but the color, I'd be fine with that.

Ideally, they would leave their regular home and road set piping free, while adding three alts (home, road, alt) with the SF logo and the piping. I know I know, it's jersey overkill. But in a sport where you play 162 games a season, it wouldn't be too offensive IMO (but I'm sure some of you would still disagree).

All the Giants need to do is make the SF Alternate the main road jersey. I never liked the current jersey with the San Francisco script to begin with, it has a super generic font and is really cramped in there to fit on the chest.

Disagree. Their previous roads without the placket piping were among the best in baseball, coupled with one of the best home uniforms in baseball. They ruined them last year. The 'SF' alts make for a fine Sunday alt, but nothing more than that.

New alt. For the Nationals

The team will wear it tomorrow vs. the Yankees and for all home games with red jerseys this year.

Not sure if this was posted before. Did a search and did not see it. My bad if it has been posted already.

The Nationals have a new alternate hat for the 2013 season:

It will be worn in the exhibition game tomorrow vs. the Yankees and for all home games with red jerseys this year.

You beat me to it. stupid slow computer.

Those aren't the stars and stripes hats. MLB tweeted that each team would have a camo hat for memorial day and a stars and stripes hat for July 4th

Oh, goodie. NE & MLB thought it would be a good idea to do mutliple Patriotism Hats for 2013!

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

The Cardinals have taken the final day of polling to Twitter. Unfortunately, they're potentially lying about the results.

The eye test as well as multiple hashtag services suggest the navy road cap is winning this portion of the vote too (or at least neck and neck), but the Cardinals results page says it's a run away for the red cap with the navy cap doing no better than the two mixed bag options.

It's fishy to say the least.

I don't think the votes were going how the Cardinals liked.

Then they should have just had voting on Carindals.com, rather than on facebook or Twitter. That way it would be harder to tell that they're faking the vote.

If they're gaming the numbers in favor of the all-red, then I'm all for it. Or maybe it just reflects people like me, who voted all-red but couldn't be bothered to Tweet about it.

a little bigger pic of the Stan Musial patch, courtesy the Cardinals FB page

Simple, nice, well-balanced. So much better than the Earl Weaver mess.

I share your frustration. This, the Mariners' BP, and the front panel of the Tigers' home BP. Purely out of curiosity, I searched for a precedent of this in MLB history and came up with none other than the St. Louis Browns. Woof.

From San Berdoo to Kalamazoo.
