nyk
The Pacers and Hornets both have two-tone court also, except their's are along out of bounds. I believe from what I heard, the Atlanta Hawks Cout will be the same.
powersurge
Nets will change identity (everything but name, and maybe even that) when they move to Brooklyn in 2010.that'll be weird having another NBA team in NY. did they ever confirm they were going to rename the team the "Brooklyn _______?" or were they just planning on pulling a Giants/Jets deal and just have an arena somewhere else (which now that i think about it, doesnt make much sense for a NYC team). If they name the team anything other than Brooklyn I'll be shocked. As for the nickname, well thats a matter of taste. Brooklyn Nets flows nicely IMO, but again its a matter of personal taste. I hope they do something somewhat retro with the logo and uniforms. Maybe something with 'Brooklyn' in a script and an actual net in the logo for once.

mania
FLEUR DE BEE JERSEY PATCH TO BE UNVEILEDA new chapter in Hornets history will open today when the team's Fleur de Bee patch is unveiled at a media event this afternoon at the Alario Center. Under the direction of Hornets Executive Officer of the Board Chad Shinn, adidas designed the patch that will be worn on the team's home and road jerseys this season, illustrating the passion the entire organization has for the people of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans. "The patch is a symbol of the pride we take in this community, and demonstrates our desire to become part of the fabric of New Orleans," said Shinn. "We are constantly looking for ways to best connect with our fans, and we felt very passionately about adapting one of this city's most treasured symbols into a mark to signify this connection."Beginning at 1pm today, you will be able to pre-order merchandise featuring the Fleur de Bee patch at Hornets.com. You will also be able to pre-order at the Hornets first preseason game in the New Orleans Arena on October 15.I like the look of it, but still think that the franchise should stay in OKC, where at least people give a damn about the team. Gothamite
I really love that fleur de bee.Not as much as the crawfish, but still. That's really cool. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
BBTV
That patch is beyond awesome. There isn't a ton of contrast between the purple and teal, but it is still terrific.Between this and the ASG package, there are some pretty sweet new logos floating around the NOLA area. BBM
Very nice patch, but yeah I still prefer the crawfish.
powersurge
I think the logo is extremely creative, but I still like the 'fleur de jester' logo better. As was previously said, the lack of contrast is apparent but not a big problem. It does make me kind of wish that the hornets would incorporate more dark blue/purple into the teal mess that is their uniforms.
Gothamite
Between this and the ASG package, there are some pretty sweet new logos floating around the NOLA area.I agree. This and the crawfish are each better than the current logo. The fleur de bee should be the new primary. The jester's just a bit too busy for my taste. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! powersurge
On a somewhat related note...Wasn't there or isn't there a team in the minor leagues named the 'Crawdads'? If the hornets ever changed their name, that would get my vote.EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hickory...ds_Cap_Logo.PNGI love that logo! Old School Fool
So I guess the Fleur de Bee will be replacing the <H> patch at the throat? It's a patch, therefor it will be where the OKC was. Â
chakfu
Wow...I suppose it could use more yellow, but I think that fleur de bee is one of the best logos I've ever seen. It's even reminiscent of the original pre-Hugo logo as well from the original teams waistband (except much better than that one.)
