  1. I cannot wait for baseball to go to 32 teams because I want atlanta out of our goddamn division
  2. I am fully convinced that even the 1927 yankees would immediately start crying and crapping themselves if they had to play the braves in any situation that would help the mets
  3. okay actually I lied, I do in fact care immensely about skateboarding and motocross. I just don't really think of them as sports first, if that makes sense.
  4. I absolutely hate that modern uniforms need to be sleek and form-fitting. give me football jerseys with actual sleeves, please. hell, give me TJ Ford and his Longs.
  5. "oh boy, more heckin' teams! can't wait for the Omaha Stampederinos!"
  6. golf is not only thoroughly uninteresting as a sporting event, it has an extremely negative impact on the environment and a long history of bigotry, and as such would be outlawed in a just world. not too into the other individual sports, either. well, aside from auto racing, which I do consider an individual sport in most cases.
  7. look, I understand you're trying to be "realistic" here, but maybe we shouldn't just put all of these teams in NFL markets.
  8. lmao no, the NFL had this figured out for the longest time - 8 division winners, 4 wild cards. simple as. then again there's my personal opinion that winning your division shouldn't lock you into a playoff spot. divisions should only exist for scheduling and travel purposes. case in point: 2005 Padres.
  9. my guy, if the Brewers get it together the Dads ain't even gonna make the playoffs.
  10. last night, Chandler Redmond of the AA Springfield Cardinals became the second player in the history of professional baseball to hit for a home run cycle (solo, 2-run, 3-run, and grand slam in one game). the only other documented HR cycle on record was by Tyrone Hornes of the 1998 Arkansas Travelers. who were also a AA affiliate of the Cardinals.
  11. kinda wish deGrom coulda gotten his no-hitter, or at least be part of a combined one, but I can't complain at all about a 4-1 series win over the Braves. maybe now their fans will shut up for a while.
  12. jesus, the east division blows, huh
  13. the mets are going to miss the playoffs by a game and it'll be this game. going to smash my fvcking head in a car door.
  14. is it weird that I actually really like the Jets helmet? maybe it's my zoomer nostalgia for BFBS talking but I just think it looks cool.
  15. I have a genuine question: is there anyone who actually likes uniforms like these? because I'm thinking about, y'know, the types of jerseys I see people wearing out in public, and I don't think I've seen a single one of these minimalist disasterclasses. and I live in Charleston, so while it's naturally a bit Charlotte and Atlanta-heavy, you get a mix of just about every team's merch you can think of. and I can't recall seeing one "sleek" "modern" "trendy" jersey around the city. expansion-era Raptors and T-Mac Magic? all the time. statement/city jerseys that, even if they don't necessarily always succeed, actually try to do something interesting? oh yeah. nobody's going to be rocking the new Cavs jerseys. I firmly believe the only people who actually like how these uniforms look are the same people who think Corporate Memphis is an attractive art style.
  16. logically, probably Texas considering they haven't hosted one in almost 30 years on top of having the newest ballpark in the league. I really like the prospective markets idea, though; a game in Charlotte, Nashville, Vegas, or Montreal would be sweet. you'd probably only be able to go as far down as AAA ballparks, though; I don't think they could get away with having the ASG in "Portland" at the Hillsboro Hops' place.
  17. good, that means at the end of the season, the Mets will still have the home run derby winner on their roster :^)
  18. "sir, a second home run has hit the North Tower." look, it's either that or I post the Alonso pic. you know the one.
  19. weirdly, this kinda works, at least on the white jersey. gives it a bit of vague western flair. that said, this is still a Certified 2002-2010 Buffalo Bills Moment.
  20. might get some heat for this one, but the pre-wild card era of baseball where you had to win the division or else you missed the playoffs... even if the other division winner had a significantly worse record than you. two(?) words: 1993 Giants.
  21. I think in terms of southern expansion, the only two real options are Nashville and Charlotte (maybe New Orleans in a past life), and Charlotte is much closer to the Atlanta Sphere of Influence than Nashville is. not factoring in a potential A's move, the play to get to 32 teams would probably be Montreal and Nashville.
  22. from my experience as a Mets fan, I think there's more of a mutual respect than anything. most Twitter interactions between Mets and Dodgers fans I've seen this season have been along the lines of "see you in the NLCS bro" "hell yeah bro can't wait."
