I thought that when I finally saw them in action, I'd like the new Twins look more than I did. They actually look really strange without the pinstripes.

Just checked out the Diamondbacks website, and it appears Throwback Thursdays are much ado about nothing...... The site says "Happy 20th Birthday, D-Backs", so it looks like they are celebrating the year they were granted a franchise, 1995, even though they didn't begin playing until '98. Doesn't look like purple and turquoise will be making a meaningful comeback. Too bad.

I think you expected more than what they planned on. Throwback Thursdays are still happening. They aren't changing back to the old color scheme. It's not really much ado about nothing...it's for a decent number of games.

You are right, it was just wishful thinking on my part :) Couldn't think of an anniversary they would be celebrating. Their first year was 1998, the World Series was in 2001. Didn't think they would be going back to 1995. Kind of unusual. The idea of the original colors has been very popular on their facebook page, and elsewhere, and so I had hoped that just maybe, they were testing the waters.......

The cut of those Diamondback throwbacks is awful. It's not an actual vest, just a regular with the sleeves cut off. Then again all modern sleeveless looks are like that, and it's a massive pet peeve of mind (especially when sleeveless was a trend)

How would you define an actual vest then?

That's how the Diamondbacks vest looked when it was worn full-time, though. Cutting it differently wouldn't be true to the throwback.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying it looks bad and they'd have to fix that if they were to bring back that specific look.

Never noticed the A on the stirrups before. Hope they bring that back too.

Whats the patch the Rays are wearing?

It's the Clearwater Centennial patch the Phillies are also wearing. Probably the Rays' tribute to the city.
