Isn't A-Roid still going to be paid by the Yankees his same $ number?  Basically paying him not to play?

As for Ichiro, I think his Japanese stats are merited to a degree, because no one can ever suggest 'oh well, he never faced MLB pitching, we'll never know', when guy has 3000+ MLB hits, the 262 season record.  Not to mention a career .314 avg & 507 sb to boot.

Pete Rose is the all time MLB hit leader, 4256.  Ichiro is the all time pro baseball hits leader 4280.  That's fine with me.  If 21st century generations of kids & fans put Ichiro's hit total ahead of Rose's as best ever, so be it.

It's like Oh being the "real" home run king.  Most people would not ever notice, but it's still kinda cool to know there's something above 762 to push for.

Its it's also a testament to just how good Ichiro is. He's definitely on the current "all-century" list, and probably will be for quite awhile.

I think if Oh had come over & hit 3-5 seasons of 30hrs+ his reputation would be greater.

Article #3.

Feel free to comment on the page. I've already started work on the next team which will feature six former MVP's on the 25 man roster as well as a starting rotation anchored by two multiple time Cy Young Award winners making them one of the most dominating teams that will be featured.

Also - Ichiro is absolutely an all-timer.  You can't dismiss what he did in Japan, even if it wasn't against major-league talent.  I'm not advocating adding the stats together, but what he did there is still tough (nobody has really had a better career there in a similar amount of time) so for him to dominate there, then come over here and not skip a beat makes it reasonable to assume that he could have had 4,300 hits had he played his full prime in MLB (7 full "good" seasons in Japan, project around 200 hits per in MLB.)

even if you completely ignore his time in Japan, which would be wrong, he still ranks as one of the GOATs for his career in MLB.

Even ignoring his time in the NL he still ranks as such

Was that the first Marlins-Rockies historic game of note?  Other than their first match-up.

So I guess if anyone's arguing against leagues adding more teams, one could point to the fact it allowed someone like Ichiro game time to reach 3000.

Boggs' also, with TB.

I figured anyone who cued up that song was doing it to be subversive and taunt Chapman. Why's anyone playing old Prodigy songs at a Cubs game, anyway? Stick to organ!

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Didn't the White Sox once troll Chuck Finley by playing a Whitesnake song because of Tawny Kitaen?
