I changed the A-star to a baseball, extended some of the wing stripes to the ball (like motion lines), and converted to their team colours. They (whoever "they" are) did a fantastic job on the uniforms. Have a great season guys!... I really hope they atleast sent you a free hat and jersey as part of compensation. Looks really great but agree with the number being on the wrong side and hell it should have been a white number with a blue and orange outline Bleeding Blue since 1986

Did you receive any compensation, or did you do this out of kind regards? Either way, it's nice to see one of your designs actually get used! If it's for a charity or a kids' team or a beer league team, I let them use it for free. There's quite a few teams out there using my logos. I appreciate them asking, and you're right...it's nice that they get used. I don't ask for anything in return, however this team is sending me out one of those sweet caps. Thanks Kitt. *The Battle of Seattle

I'm not a baseball guy, but don't the White Sox have their numbers on the same side? I listened again to Foley's interview. "TaylorMade" might be right, that the mention of reflecting the Las Vegas environment would now suggest "Desert Knights". *The Battle of Seattle

This Vegas team is going to be about as big of a disaster as the Jobing.com era Yotes (or, more likely, an even bigger disaster), so they might as well emulate their color scheme, too. Gothamite
That's a rare exemption, and it was done to match their home jerseys, which have a small logo on the right. Our eyes read left to right, so putting the number on the left forces the reader to go back to the beginning. It's easier on the eye to put it on the right. For the same reason, we put more weight on the beginning of a word even if the entire thing is capitalized. This is also why straight marks almost always move upwards - some rare examples are level, but none slope downwards. And that itself contributes to numbers on the right, as the slope creates more space for them there. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. The_Admiral
I always wished a baseball team would try the New York Rangers' downward diagonal lettering, but I suspect the button-down shirt would get in the way somehow. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Still, you only need one counter-example in order to show that the appropriate descriptor is not "always" but "almost always".
Gothamite
Eh, they saw the error of their ways and corrected it. To the extent we can ever apply "always" to something like this, I think it fits here. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. NYYNYR
I'm trying to give the Vegas club the benefit of the doubt, but sedona red / silver/ black? As someone said above, you're gonna do a coyotes-lite? I dunno what to think. I thought I was on the right track with my earlier post about going with the striping like the Vegas flag (it's giftwrapped for them, practically!), but the commenter who said the color scheme I envisioned (Black/Gold/Silver/Blue) would be infinitely better than what was chosen is probably gonna turn out to be correct. What a missed opportunity to go with a purple-based club. You could make up for the crummy name you're gonna give them and salvage everything with a rich purple-dominant color scheme. For heaven's sake, just be the NHL equivalent of the Vikings or the Ravens. Or combine it ! Purple and yellow meet purple and black. But to go with silver/black/brick red... meh? That seems like such a mishmosh of things that don't really work. At this point, though, I guess they could have a 4th color...aqua? Who the hell knows. I never once got my hopes up on the silly gambling-based names. You knew they weren't going to fly. But to call it the Desert Knights or whatever it ends up being and having a somewhat muted color scheme in a city like Las Vegas...at that point, why isn't the team just playing in Santa Fe or something? NYYNYR
I guess we should wait until the unveil, but then what's the point of being on a sports logo site? + + = a military theme, based on the Army knight, in a color scheme of metallic grey/silver / black / brick? Good grief !!!! PS: Wow, looking at the Nevada flag. I can totally see that being the "hanger effect." That would be the only friggin' thing I can think of in which there's some level of tie-in between the location and the team (outside of silver, for the Silver State).
