Juwan Howard's Michigan team just beat up UNC.

Granted, Michigan was seen to be a Top 10 team before both Beilein and Poole left, but...

WOW!

Then decimated Gonzaga. First time in 40 years they defeated Top ten teams back to back.

Lost their top 3 scorers and their HC and yet this season, they are playing more efficiently.

They make 60% of their 2-pt shots (5th in the nation) and 42.4% of their 3-pt shots (11th in the nation) to be 2nd in effective FG percentage.

Hiring Phil Martelli to be on the bench seems to have worked, just so Juwan can look on the bench for a guy who has done this before.

In the next two weeks, they have:

@ likely new #1 Louisville

a 5-1 Iowa team at home

@ Illinois

Host Oregon

Man, it feels good to put the hurt on ASU like we're supposed to. That's the lowest point total ASU has scored against Arizona since 2007.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (CHL - 2018 Orr Cup Champions) Chicago Rivermen (UBA/WBL - 2014, 2015, 2017 Intercontinental Cup Champions)

King's Own Hexham FC (BIP - 2022 Saint's Cup Champions) Portland Explorers (EFL - Elite Bowl XIX Champions) Real San Diego (UPL) Red Bull Seattle (ULL - 2018, 2019, 2020 Gait Cup Champions) Vancouver Huskies (CL)

Time to resurrect this topic as it's now March and conference tournaments are underway.

Also have to note that this country now has our first sporting events cancelled by the corona virus.. and it's... Chicago State basketball?!?

(Might be for the best since the Cougars are Grade 'A' trash on both sides)

I feel like this was a cost saving measure described as a health conscience decision. If this is the first time people hear of you all year, you're probably not doing well.

Likely using corona virus as an excuse for the fact that both teams are trash.

Well, I don't know if it's a likely excuse since UMKC (Oops, I mean Kansas City) has also cancelled their trip to Seattle this weekend with the Seattle area being ground zero for the current outbreak.

What isn't an excuse is how trash Chicago State is. The men's team only has one win against D-I competition (SIU-Edwardsville) and the women's team has only one win period (against Cal State Bakersfield)

It is time... two automatic bids are up for grabs today.

Mountain West - Las Vegas, NV

#2 Utah State vs. #1 San Diego State

Records

USU: 25-8 (12-6)

SDSU: 30-1 (17-1)

The Aztecs ran away with the conference title despite a hiccup against UNLV. In both meetings with Utah State, they won rather easily. This game is important for San Diego State for one big reason: Seeding. A win here means they would be a potential number 1 seed in the Big Dance. Standing in the way of that goal is the Aggies. Fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives, Utah State took down a scrappy Wyoming team to get here. Can the Aggies pull off the stunner or does San Diego State assure themselves of a top 4 seed?

Ohio Valley - Evansville, IN

#2 Murray State vs. #1 Belmont

Records

MURR: 23-8 (15-3)

BEL: 25-7 (15-3)

This championship meeting between the two rivals doesn't have the same level of star power as Ja Morant is now making Memphis look good in the NBA. Still, these are the two best teams in the Ohio Valley. The two teams split their season series, so you know that this rubber match has everything going for it. Who takes home the automatic bid this time?
