There remains the possibility Antonio Brown has CTE or another mental illness. I hope he retires happily and healthily.

He clearly has mental illness, but I’m not buying it’s cte. He’s always been a head case. He was kicked off teams in college AND high school

There’s kind of a fine line between recognizing how CTE/mental illness can debilitate someone, and just using it as a crutch to excuse bad behavior. I’m all for people getting the help they need, but Antonio Brown has more resources at his disposal to deal with this kind of thing than most of us do. The further this goes along, and the more it’s publicized, the more it just feels like a lack of any personal accountability on Brown’s part, and a whole group of people enabling that bad behavior on the other side.

Its kind of like the steroids thing in baseball.  Most people knew there was something going on that was problematic, and that it was pretty rampant and widespread. Jose Canseco isn’t a hero for exposing that, he was just trying to shift the attention away from his own antics and stay in the spotlight a little longer. That’s kind of how that whole statement from Brown’s lawyers felt.

Antonio Brown makes himself less likable (and makes less sense) by the day.

"How I've been handled, how I continue to be handled, how I continue to be slandered, how I continue to be made upon as a bad guy -- I know America love its bad guys -- but I'm a great guy," Brown said on Clubhouse. "I just won a Super Bowl, I'm an American hero, I persevered through numerous adversities.

To me, a friend is someone who's got your back," Brown said on the "Full Send Podcast" on Friday. "Not everybody in sports is going to be your friend. Tom Brady's my friend why? Because I'm a good football player. He needs me to play football. People have different meanings of what friendship is."

Then later on in the same podcast…

Quote

On the "Full Send Podcast," Brown noted that it's not "personal" with Brady. "Tom is actually my friend. One of my close friends."

Why is everyone jumping to "must be CTE"?  There's plenty of people dealing with severe mental illness and personality disorders that haven't received a single concussion in their lives.  There's a million possible reasons for his erratic behavior, and I think it's silly that some people (not saying you) are playing doctor and pointing to a single hit to the head for it, or "doing their own research" on CTE to diagnose him with it... while sitting on their toilet.

He's never been held really accountable for anything.  None of his run ins with the law ever amounted to anything substantial, and every time he burns a bridge with an NFL team, there's another one ready to hand him millions.  Hell - if he has good advisors (and actually listens to them) he could live the rest of his life with whatever money he hasn't blown and never know what it's like to actually suffer consequences for poor decisions.  It's unfortunate, but he'll probably have to hit absolute rock bottom before realizing it's time to make some changes - and that's unlikely to happen.   As long as he stays off drugs, short of killing someone or gambling every penny away, he's probably not going to find himself in that position no matter how erratic he acts.

What in the blue hell is this?  Who are these stooges?  And what the hell is AB talking about "yall act like Brady's a god but he can't do it by himself" (or something like that).  BRADY DOESN'T NEED YOU!  My gods.  Brady has won SBs with way worse WRs than AB.

If, as expected, the Eagles play the Bucs in the playoffs, I would normally hope that AB would tweet all the Bucs signals and audibles out so that they'd have to change everything up at the last minute, but that doesn't matter.  See normally, when you go one-on-one with another football team, you have a 50/50 chance at winning.  But Tom Brady knows that he can't beat the Eagles, so he's not even going to try.  So Tampa as a 0% at best of winning.  Take Tampa's 0% chance, and add to the Eagles 141 2/3% chance, if Tampa doesn't try, and Philadelphia comes out on top.  The numbers don't lie.

So you're one of those sheep that believes what the media tells you?  I did my own research, and the Eagles actually won that game, but the government made the networks show mashed-up footage that made it look the other way.  But keep believing what they tell you.

Yea I get all my news coverage from fox that broadcast that super bowl. All other Super Bowls are illegitimate falsehoods created by the left controlled MSM.

DISCLAIMER: The following post is just an observation based on some of the posts in this thread with regard to Antonio Brown.

As far as I know, none of you are experts on CTE.  As far as I can tell, most of you are smart enough to know that A doesn't necessarily cause B.

The preceding post was not a "mod post" or a warning of any kind. It was me being amused by all the amateur neurologists we suddenly seem to have around here. My only regret is that I worded it in such a way that it could have come across as a warning and that was not my intent.

Carry on.
