NFL '22 Offseason: Hirings, firings, signings, trades, cuts and cap hits on parade

I'm even more surprised Rodgers chose to stay with the Packers knowing Adams was leaving.

He had his golden parachute to Denver but said no.

Speaking of which, the AFC West is going to be a bloodbath this season. Damn.

I still wouldn't pick anyone outside of the Chiefs as "Super Bowl contenders", but the division could go to any of them.

The Davante Adams story gets even better when you find out he was offered the exact same contract by Green Bay but still chose to get the fxck outta there. Dude was done with the franchise tag. Done with Rodgers' drama and BS.

I don't think he knew Adams was gone, but could've seen the writing on the wall. Gotta believe the Packers knew more than Rodgers did (as they did when the drafted Jordan Love behind his back). The team just waited for the ink to dry on Rodgers' new deal before pulling the trigger on this trade

So yeah, the AFC West is probably going to be the first division to have all its teams make the postseason.

I would say the Chiefs, Broncos and Raiders should definitely be there. As for the Chargers, Brandon Staley single-handedly cost his team a couple games last year. LA misses if he hasn't learned from his mistakes

Barring some major offseason moves or injuries, the final AFC playoff spot probably comes down to Chargers or Patriots.  The North probably doesn't have a wild card team, nor the South.  It doesn't take a scientist to predict a playoff field of KC, CIN, TEN, BUF, DEN, LV, and one of NE/LAC.

Dude spurned the Packers because he was tired of all the drama and went to the Raiders. Let that sink in.

Per his agents, Adams took less money to get out of Green Bay. Speaks volumes.

Is anybody taking into account that maybe he took less money in LV to play with his college QB, Derek Carr? We’ve seen college teammates do a lot of damage in the NFL (Watson/Hopkins, Burrow/Chase). Maybe Adams wanted to join the trend.

Finally, Devante Adams is playing for an actual good guy at QB, a QB who people still think could be traded, despite the new folks in charge saying otherwise.  Plus he can increase Carr's TD's from 2021, perhaps even to the 40 TD threshold for the first time in his career.

Meanwhile, Panthers, Colts, Browns, Saints, Seahawks and Falcons have QB issues.  Jimmy G? Gardner Minshew? Baker Mayfield? Matt Ryan?  A free agent?

You don't think a Ravens team with a healthy Lamar can challenge for a wildcard?

At least Seattle doesn't need to pretend to enjoy Russ' weirdness anymore

Best of luck to him though. Still a top 5 QB and I'm said he's not playing locally anymore. If you had Russ you had a chance.

Deshaun Watson to Atlanta

Matt Ryan to Indianapolis

Baker Mayfield to Houston

Rookie QB to Cleveland

I don't see Cleveland trading Mayfield anywhere without getting a QB in return. At this point swapping Mayfield for Garrapolo may be the best for all four sides involved. If Mayfield can't beat Trey Lance in San Francisco, then that's on him. I'd rather grab either Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud in 2023. I think those two are better than any of the quarterbacks coming out this year. Cleveland should grab whichever Ohio State WR is available at 13, and then work on defense in rounds 2 and 3.

Their fans don't deserve that.  Nobody's do.

Minshew to Cleveland!

That might work for half the season. I'd also think Stefanski might realize handing the ball to Chubb and Hunt is a much better plan than throwing it every first down.

Who would trade any significant asset for him?  Seattle maybe?  Texans?

I can't see anything more than maybe two 2nd round picks. Whatever it is, it won't be as insane as whatever Carolina or Atlanta pays for a guy that could still lose games this season.

This is on A-A-ron. If he wanted to keep Adams, he should have taken less money. Now we'll just wait to see who they lose to in the divisional round again, because they aren't making the NFC Championship this year.

Isn't he making more?

Huh.

What!?!?!?!? I guess that could mean they swap QB's if this goes through instead of Cleveland giving up 3-4 first round picks. That's if it's true.
