The Eagles word mark is perfectly safe and boring. I agree that it will feel out of place with the current number fonts and logos.

Dr. Kelso: My son is a big baseball fan. Not so much playing it, but more the designing and sewing of uniforms.

Tyler: That's neat.

Dr. Kelso: No, it's not.

It’ll at least fix the “issue” that the now-former word mark has when it’s painted in the end zone. I wonder when they’re going to update the retail jerseys since they’ve been (presumably) selling tons of new ones.

Which is why I think/hope it means change is on the way. The Eagles, regardless of what they do with their color green, need a visual shakeup. It's been way too long

That’s true. The old mark was so squished.

You may be right. It could be a soft launch toward a rebrand. I am fine with the logo as is, not much else you can do with an eagle, but I wouldn’t be opposed to something fresher.

So instead of adding the old gold helmet to match the throwbacks the Saints decide on an unnecessary black abomination with the Seahawks stripe. Great.

And that Eagles word mark is so boring and corporate like most new word marks are these days. Fans are ripping it.

Probably the cherry on top of the Saints black helmet is, if I’m understanding this correctly, the only jersey they can’t pair it with is the primary black home jersey. I know we kind of have a thing against mono looks, but even so, that’s very dumb.

good god this looks like every "modern" script logo in the NFL. This sucks.

My first thought (other than the work I was going to have to do) was that it reminded me of the Lions wordmark, which also sucks. There's no character or charm whatsoever.

I believe they can only pair it with alternates, so it can only go with the color rush if that's the case

Sorry, I'm on an iPad

Absolutely agreed. First thing I thought of too.

Someone on Reddit claimed it was from the same firm that designed the Lions wordmark.

Honestly, on its own aesthetically, I actually like the Saints helmet, as unpopular as that seems to be. I can see the Louis Vuitton comparison with the helmet stripe, but something about it captures something that feels very “New Orleans” and very “Saints” at the same time, if that makes any sense at all.

However, pairing it with the Color Rush jersey is an absolute travesty. I didn’t think it could possibly get worse than the vegas gold helmet that didn’t match. An old gold helmet would have been so much better, even a white helmet would have been nice. The only combo I think this helmet would look good with is all black, although I understand that’s impossible under the current rules.

As for the Eagles’ wordmark, I similarly like it on its own, it’s a nice refresh that feels fitting for the team. However, in keeping the old eagle logo & presumably the old number font, I imagine the wordmark will look quite out of place. It feels like a half-measure when I would have preferred them to try a complete refresh.

seahawks did it first so I guess it's more apt to call it a  louis vuitton knock off...

Perhaps you’ll think again once you realize the rebrand would be an over-designed all green look, all white look, and all black look.
