This seems to be the norm for stripes applied in white vinyl, though uniforms with white striping on them dont usually feature enough white fabric nearby to show the contrast (another L for contrasting sleeves, a trend which really should have died off in 2013). I noticed this a lot early on in the Jags last set with their “ghost” stripes, though I don’t recall seeing it as much later on so I wonder if they wound up fixing it somehow.
gothedistance
Madden 23 updated the Browns midfield with a logo to match with the real life game. EA needs to update the 49ers midfield logo. They still have the one from last year when the team was celebrating the 75th anniversary. Can we get EA to do this? I think they will do Eagles new workmark on the end zone,

Not a unique thing within the league's branding. Only thing with Washington is their primary and secondary marks are just color swaps of each other. I'm still waiting for them to start selling burgundy hats with the gold W. Like the first secondary logo shown. The Vikings, Rams, and Eagles helmet designs aren’t really “logos” though (and I’m not sure if any of them carry the helmet graphic itself as a stand-alone piece within their identities). They’re certainly not commonly used on merchandise. 1 I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry [The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the position, strategy or opinions of adidas and/or its brands.]

The logo slick has it, and it's used on merchandise occasionally.

Yeah that helmet is probably one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The thing that’s cool about the Bears main helmet is that it’s somewhat minimalist. The dark helmet and mask really makes the orange and white C pop. The reverse of that just looks gaudy as all hell and the logo gets totally drowned out. Also, the numbers and player names being reverse colors of the stripes and logo looks really damn bad. It’s easy to overlook when the dark color is the base, but the orange being the base really exasperates that problem. Looks completely amateurish, almost like a high school team. Fitting really, considering that’s how they played, too. 5 1 On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) BBTV
One good uniform, and one uniform that doesn't know if it wants to be classic with the beautiful helmet striping to go along with the classic logo, or a relic from the '70s with the thick asymmetrical striping. The Bears uniform would get equal rave reviews if it was unveiled in any decade from the 30s on. The Washington uniforms definitely look like they were designed when they were. 2 "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." The_Admiral
I liked the asymmetrical striping as a design element, never cared for the helmet logo. A team where there were a lot of good design elements that rarely/never coincided: spear helmet, asymmetrical stripes, burgundy over gold, the superior darker shades of both. Something I miss from the '80s is more teams with varsity serif NOBs or really spaced-out letters (or both), but of course, neither one lends itself to "Hightower-Cromartie Sr" and the like. 3 ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Well those weren’t white stripes but “chrome”, basically just the clear film that use to be around the fly wire on the collars at the time they turned it into shoulder stripes

So you just made me think of something. What's the rules when it comes to adding suffixes to hyphenated names? Say your dad is Joe Hightower, and your mom's dad is Joe Cromartie, and you are Joe Hightower-Cromartie. Do you get to be Joe Hightower Jr - Cromartie II? Or are you just Joe Hightower-Cromartie "the 1st", and if you give your kid the same hyphenated last name and name him Joe, does he become Joe Hightower-Cromartie Jr? The_Admiral
Good question. I don't know why suffixes are necessary on nameplates at all, though. Ken Griffey Jr. was always just "Griffey" on his jerseys. I think it was Steve Smith of the Panthers who started the trend when he had a kid, named him after himself, and started demanding that he be referred to as "Steve Smith Sr." in deference to his son, who had not yet made an NFL roster by virtue of being an infant. Now it's rampant. 1 ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

And in this era of fabricating personal brands, those hyphenations or the Jr./Sr./III denotations serve as ornaments to athletes seeking attention. 1

Got me thinking of something similar in context...I guess the NBA doesn't mandate that players with the same surname wear first initials, at least from what I see with the Bucks. We got Giannis... ...and we got his brother Thanasis A strong mind gets high off success, a weak mind gets high off bull
The_Admiral
I'm surprised the NBA didn't just give up the ghost and let him be an effectively mononymous "Giannis" for jersey purposes, the league having abandoned any sort of strictness when they let players change their "names" to "Racism, Gotta Say, Not The Biggest Fan Of It" 4 ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
