I don't see CMC staying healthy on a new team on a consistant basis. But as DG said, don't be shocked if SF makes it back to the NFCCG if he does stay healthy. It's absolutely asinine to go ditch your Pro Bowl QB for a third string rookie QB just because he looked great playing some historically bad defenses. Zappe could be a starting caliber QB, but going with him just because of such a small & skewed sample size is ridiculous. Personally I would like to see Zappe play this week just to see how he does facing a team with something resembling a defense. They have a world class defense, and at least enough talent on offense to still be explosive. This is a move that not only adds to their offensive firepower, but also helps them to cover up some of the deficiencies that their QB has. Sure, it was a lot to give up, but it’s for a dude that’ll fit their system very well and is kind of exactly what they need. I don’t see how this isn’t a win for the 49ers.
