There won't be an Arlington Heights Bears because the Bears will never make it to Arlington Heights. Hope this helps.

But they did make it to Champaign...once.

No better evidence of Chicago's weakness as a college football town than the Bears having to schlep all the way out to Missouri: The Director's Cut to find a marginally acceptable interim venue.

Trying to do a few games at Wrigley Field would have been fun, but that was when the Tribune owned the Cubs and wasn't keen on using Wrigley for anything but baseball, which actually may have been the right move, in retrospect. Another right move might have been building a combined Bears/Northwestern stadium in Evanston. Oh well.

Yeah, just tweaking downstate.

My favorite Vikings stadium was when they played at the Gophers stadium. That should have been a combined effort, too. So the Cities got one Super Bowl out of building another dome just for the Vikings. Big deal. Waste of money. I thought they were all tightwads up there.

With a rear engine that bursts into flames any time it’s involved in a rear-end collision.

Has it been explained why so many teams that fully paint their end zones are leaving a small strip just inside the goal line and out-of-bounds lines unpainted this year? Design trend? League request?

The Rams/Chargers started doing it a couple years ago when SoFi opened, but I’ve noticed a lot more fields with it that way this year.

The only possible explanation I could come up with was that the NFL wants a consistent high-contrast surface to make it easier for officials to rule whether players are inbounds on close plays. I figured it had to be for functional reasons because, aesthetically, it’s clearly worse than painting all the way to the boundary.

RE: Merging of NFL Threads

In the opinion of the moderator team, it's easier to manage as two separate threads. That way the predictions don't get conflated with actual news. Of course, duplicate conversations will occur, but we'd get that in merged circumstances as well. You always have a choice to view the section of your preference.

The NFL truly being the No Fun League, is asking Houston to stop using the Luv Ya Blue uni's. (Paywalled)

I thought U of H's was different enough to avoid that issue. Guess not.

Safe to assume Rice will get the cease and desist too?  Theirs does include navy and silver, but we all know what they were doing.

At least that clearly says RICE, so there’s little chance of confusing them for having a licensing deal for Oilers stuff.
