MJWalker45
Not sure if anyone else saw this, but the Big Ten is moving some of their Saturday night games to NBC/Peacock this year. And now Fallout Boy can annoy people on another network.
Seadragon76
Not a bad game for NBC to pick up to start their run with the Big Ten - a Power 5 battle in Happy Valley. Isn't this also the first year for the new media deals that the Big Ten and SEC have?

Unocal
2023 is not just being the last SEC/CBS year, but also: USC/UCLA's last seasons in the Pac 12 Texas/Oklahoma last seasons in the Big 12 The last year of the 4 team Playoff 2023 quite frankly might as well be 'College Football: The Last Dance"

When was the last time NBC aired a college football non-Bowl game that did not feature Notre Dame?

NBC has been the broadcaster for the Bayou Classic game between Grambling and Southern since 1991 (this includes the stint on NBC Sports Network before that got shutdown)

The 1994 Orange Bowl between FSU and Nebraska was aired on NBC. Edit: Nevermind, he said a non-bowl game. You are probably right.

Walk-Off
If the English-language Wikipedia's article on NBC's college football television coverage is anywhere close to being correct, this year will be the first since 1965 in which the NBC over-the-air network televises a regular-season CFB game not involving Notre Dame or an HBCU. Dynasty
Pat Fitzgerald was fired from Northwestern. I guess the hazing allegations weren't made up.

DCarp1231
Roanoke College is getting a football team (and cheerleading and marching band) starting in 2024 after an 82 year hiatus. They’ll play in the D-III Old Dominion Athletic Conference. https://www.roanoke.edu/about/news/maroon_football_campaign

Academics and tuition cost will be a problem when recruiting the types of kids SW VA has that would be D3 caliber. As an alumni, I really want them to succeed, but getting the community behind them will be challenging with a successful high school program that they’ll share a stadium with. aawagner011
Michigan is not a serious football program. https://x.com/umichfootball/status/1694836460489155040?s=46&t=fJldYzp_3ZnF5iTRlBZtWQ Since I can’t figure out how to embed tweets now, here you go. Four different head coaches for three games (including a head coaching change at half time vs UNLV!). 2
SFGiants58
Well, Harbaugh’s suspension was ridiculous, so it’s only fitting than Michigan respond with a ridiculous idea. Do you want them to go with one coach and be boring? Michigan is one of the top programs in the country who could win the title any given year. You don’t play around with musical chairs for the head coaching role and use the program as a “showcase.” All that will do is breed instability and confusion. Who should the players listen to? They will win all of those games but it’s ridiculous. What a joke.
