Is there a reason to deride the nickname? Does anyone get all upset about Jimbo being a nickname to put it in sarcasm quotes?

Well, in this particular case I was attempting to deride the way Gus Johnson says it.  Which is why I put it in  quotation marks.

I’m pretty sure sarcasm quotes are something you do with your hands.

Did anybody else watch the San Jose State/Oregon State game? This was visually odd to see during a D1 college football game. They could have at least put proper seats in the grass berm area. This side faces the hard camera. Seems like that should be a feature in an endzone feature, not a sideline.

Colleges Race To Build Athletic Training Facilities and Expand Stadiums

I could see them switching the hard camera to the other side once construction is complete on the building.  Of course, the turf paint/design would need to flip, but maybe thats in the plans.

Yes, since it should be more about Colorado than about its coach (see Fleck, PJ and rowing the effing boat).  In your example, I'll e that Jimbo isn't always referred to as such, and doesn't close a tease for the upcoming game by saying 'now play my damn theme music'.

I don't see the issue at all with Coach Prime.  Things don't have to be the way they've been forever.  Not every coach has to instruct (or look) like Knute Rockne. Not sure how many other coaches came into a job with a brand already bigger than the school they're now coaching, and I haven't yet read about anything he's done that's objectively wrong (like a scandal, poor coaching decision, etc.)

I also don't think Sanders was wrong in his post-game press conference.

I don’t really have a problem with Sanders, but I still think Colorado is going to win, like, two games this season. Big win last weekend, but I still think it’s going to be an anomaly compared to the rest of the season.

Neither do I. Coach Prime is fun, he seems to be a pretty good coach, and Colorado was actually relevant and fun to watch last week. How long the Buffs will stay competitive remains to be seen, but as of right now, it's a good story and it certainly has people talking. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I even like the cowboy hat. Coach Prime is a breath of fresh air in the stodgy (and mostly idiotic) fraternity of football coaches. We need more coaches like him, not less.

As one of the old guys here, seeing people half my age pitching a :censored: over a harmless nickname is pretty funny. Don't get old before your time, kids.

Best case scenario is they go 7-5. They're going to be fun to watch, but I think they're going to be on the short end of shootouts more often than not.

I would contend his association with Prime Prep was very much a scandal, just one that's been casually brushed aside.

Nebraska would probably be pulling an upset if it wasn't for Sims turning the ball over and over

This offense is so, so bad.

The defense is sturdy enough to keep this team in games but I don’t see how we’re going to score points.

The new clock rules in college football this year seriously suck.

I’m watching relatively low power offenses burn up half a quarter by muddling around and not even scoring. Just trying to not get blown out without even attempting to win.

Who asked for this?

Syracuse/WMU kicked off at 12:30 and they're at halftime just not at nearly 2:30.

Why should any college football game take more than four hours?

The kicker is SYRACUSE HAS BEEN STREAMING EXCLUSIVE FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK AND BOTH TIMES IT'S TAKEN 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE A HALF EVEN WITH THE NEW RULES!

Yes I know the Orange have put up points in bunches to lengthen the game, but still, IT'S STREAMING EXCLUSIVE!

With South Florida leaving Raymond James Stadium for an on campus stadium, this leads to an interesting question: should college football teams who currently occupy NFL stadiums get their own stadium on campus?  You have the Miami Hurricanes playing at Hard Rock Stadium, where the Dolphins call home, Temple at the Linc and Pitt at Acrisure.
