Red Comet
Aside from maybe Eagles at Patriots or Dolphins at Chargers? No, they all look just awful.

So it's not just me. It doesn't really matter because my ass will be on the couch anyways because any NFL football is way better than no NFL football. But man, the national telecasts really shanked the regional ones this week. Also, I just looked at next week, and whoo boy. Thursday night is Philly/Minnesota, but Sunday Night is Miami/NE, followed by the MNF double header of NO/Carolina and Pitt/Cleveland. Weird start until we know who the good teams are. Red Comet
The NFL hasn't been the same since the 2011 CBA banned two a day practices. Which, hey, can't blame the players too much on it because two a day practices in the summer heat SUUUUUCK! I used to play football in high school, I'd know. And I had the "fortune" of wearing a black jersey. But, between that and one less preseason game, the early part of the year is just....hard to watch without a rooting interest. Part of what makes the NFL a total crapshoot, but that's the fun of it. You really don't know who is going to be great or awful until 5 games into the season and even that may be too soon. BBTV
I feel even stronger now that they should do the schedule so it's something close to this: First 3 games: interconference next 3 games: intraconference next 3 games: division round 1 next 2 games: interconference next 3 games: intraconference final 3 games: division round 2 I know with bye weeks and London it's very difficult to actually do that, but it lets teams work out the kinks in less-meaningful interconference games, before playing more meaningful intracconference match ups, and then super meaningful divisional games. 5 Quote "The views expressed here are mine and do not reflect the official opinion of my employer or the organization through which the Internet was accessed." Yes, I've always hated seeing divisional games played against the same opponent played within the same half of the season. I know the Bucs have played either the Panthers or Falcons twice in 3-4 weeks. Never made sense.
DG_YouKnowWhatThatMeans
Is this the year KC stops getting a pass on the chop? 1 Quote 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Red Comet
I think the zeitgeist for any kind of change like that has passed. That and the “pass” they get is having the face of the league.

Brass
We're one quarter into the new season and I'm already sick of the Kevin Hart/DraftKings commercials that are as funny as a school bus fire. FiddySicks
I really don’t understand why the Lions would’ve accepted that holding call rather than just letting KC punt. Teams like the Chiefs and before them the Pats are frustrating not because they’re so good (which they are/were), but because they really just emphasize how dumb some of the coaches on the other side of the ball are. Astonishing to me how many wins those two teams have picked up on the backs of real idiot decisions made by the coaches they’re playing. You can’t knock them for taking advantage, but it just feels like so many games are swung by mistakes. NFL coaching reminds me of politics. You have one or two that are marginally effective, but they consistently run shop because the rest of these coaches are just morons who were in the right place at the right time. 3 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) The_Admiral
Maybe years of BBTV have gotten to me but I don't even buy Andy Reid as a coaching mastermind on par with Belichick, which makes it even stranger that opposing teams repeatedly outwit themselves against the Chiefs. Both teams have been, of course, beneficiaries of generous offensive pass interference calls, but then that's probably everyone if you went and tallied it all up. It just seems like Brady and Mahomes get deus-ex-machinaed out of every jam. 5 Quote ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Red Comet
On the flip side is that Brady and Mahomes are good at turning opportunities like that into tangible results better than most players. My two cents, take it for what it’s worth. Then again, Philadelphia is rough on anyone who isn’t a perennial champion. I’m just glad Andy Reid never decided to dress up as Santa Claus when he coached the Eagles. He’d never make it out alive.

Philadelphia was probably the worst place for Ben Simmons to go. He probably was going to get the yips anyway, but Philly magnified it a little. Red Comet
I’ll give them this. Philadelphia is equal opportunity. They’ll love anyone who produces and hate anyone who doesn’t. You at least know where you stand.
GDAWG
Chiefs Offense looks completely lost without Travis Kelce. When he's playing, defenses are confused and befuddled as to how to stop him. Without him, they themselves are confused and befuddled.
