GDAWG
It will probably be the last meaningful game Zach Edey will play because I don't see him amounting to anything other than a defensive stopper/close to the basket specialist off the bench in the NBA. Germanshepherd
In the sadness montage portion of One Shining Moment there’s a clip of a dejected Nebraska player that’s not even from the tournament (Huskers wore white in the tourney, he’s in red in the clip) Never noticed they use non-Tourney clips before and now I feel cheated Quote i have unquantifiable corpses on my conscience
FiddySicks
I didn’t pay a lick of attention to the mens tourney this year (women’s I flipped on once, maybe twice). Oh. UConn won again what a shocking result to the most boring and overrated sports event on the American calendar. I’ll see myself out. 2 1 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Unocal
3 hours ago, Lights Out said: Uhh... isn't that the goal of any coach? Especially in a high-stress single-elimination tournament like March Madness. Hurley's constant whining, jawing, and walking onto the court is irritating, but he's objectively one hell of a coach when it comes to pure Xs and Os. It shows from how diligently they move the ball on offemse. The way they calmly break the press every time like it's nothing, making the rest of the sport look like a joke for not being able to handle it nearly as well. He had the perfect defensive strategy for Purdue too. Then on the other side, you have Purdue's god-awful style of just spamming the ball to Edey so he can flop and get bailout calls from the refs, while getting away with blatant three seconds violations and offensive fouls all game. No adjustments when they have to play from behind, no plan B when a team has someone like Clingan who can guard Edey one-on-one, because Painter thinks it's 1973 and he doesn't need guards as long as he has a really tall guy on his team. At least we didn't have to watch that eyesore of a team win. It's already a bad look for the sport that their style is as successful as it is. UConn is an eyesore. tiresome, boring, dull, joyless. Nobody NOBODY asked for another Husky rerun God forbid we get something different. But no, instead we get the outcome nobody wanted. Last night was good vs evil and evil won 1

Neither will any of UConn's players Clingan would be a benchwarmer in the Big 12 Remember SHABAZZ NAPIER? He didn't amount to anything outside of March
Unocal
College basketball was better when UConn never won anything Now they are the epitome of insufferable and unlikeable UConn 'fans' are nothing but frontrunners who think CBB was invented in 1999

floydnimrod
In all fairness, most fans of any team are insufferable I hate that "what they'll do in the NBA" is ever part of the discussion when discussing the legacy/ability of college basketball players. I know the next logical step, but we're allowed to just enjoy things for what they are. 2 Quote Mancakes: The Bandhttps://twitter.com/FloydNimrod
Unocal
At no point over the last 2 years has this boring UConn blowout bull:censored: been interesting. They are a frontrunning bully who never has to worry about anything. God forbid they ever have to overcome anything.

There's nothing to 'enjoy' other than just counting down the days until UConn gets their comeuppance and Hurley gets what's coming to him He's basically a cross between Coach K and Kim Mulkey

Unocal
UConn's second straight national title comes in dominant style, cementing the Huskies as a modern dynasty - CBSSports.com Dynasty? Yeah right. More like the best of a watered down era of CBB UConn is nothing but a classless bully who runs it up and acts like they are hot stuff Good riddance to Clingan and Newton and all the others that made March Madness a waste of time 2 years in a row. At least when Florida went B2B, they actually were tested here and there.

Sport
I actually think the problem is UConn isn't dislikable enough. They're also not lovable. They're nothing. I can't be moved to feel one way or the other about them. The only thing I know about this current team is Hurley is for some reason a lifelong Bengals fan, which is weird because he's from New Jersey. Getting out to big leads or not being tested isn't a knock on them as a basketball team - That's just what good teams do. What a dumb piece of criticism. Another problem is the game started at 9:30 last night. I learned about UConn's victory on my phone this morning when I woke up as I was fast asleep before the second half. I say this every year, but you cannot convince me that starting the national championship game after 9 on the east coast is helpful for ratings.
FiddySicks
The NCAA tournament actually gives me some pause when it comes to expanding the football playoff. We have this huge 64 team tournament where the opening round is usually the top seeds straight thumping the lower seeds, and whenever a lower seed does get through a game or two, they never actually win. The winners are always the same few teams. UConn/Duke/UNC/Whoever has the biggest name recruit/whoever has the top “one and done” coach. Wash, rinse, repeat. It just makes the entire thing feel so bloated and wasteful. I’m kind of starting to wonder if we’re just going to get the same with football. I’ve never really liked the tournament, but I basically checked out when Butler (who is the closest we’ve gotten to a small school winning in SO long) lost two title games to two of the most common champions you could possibly find. I never thought we'd see women's college basketball go from novelty to the more important tournament.
