Your Little League Story

Redlands, CA

I was batting one day as a storm approached the park. Keep in mind that I was the tallest kid in the league. Anyway, I get hit by a pitch, right as thunder boomed. Everyone stared at me like I was possessed or something.

my last year in Little League i was on one of the worst teams and in the bottom of the last inning with two outs and a man on first my team was down by 1 to the best team in the league. I step up to bat against the best pitcher in the league who was brought in to close. He Kd the first two batters and nailed the next guy right in the dome, i was really scared. This was my breakout year for me in baseball and the first pitch he throws i crush it WAY out of the park for a walkoff home run. I never had and still havent had a better moment playing baseball. The only thing that even compares was last year when my football team and I won our first Varsity homecoming game in 7 years by 1 point over our biggest rivals and me as a Junior scrub starting at center because of injuries and not making a single mistake.

Unfortunately ive gone to :censored: in baseball ever since that moment and havent played for two years. Accually, ive done really poorley in football since that game as well and im not playing football this year either

I ejected a kid from a game because he threw his helmet to the ground in front of me protesting one of my calls.

Good times.

i ejected a coach once because he cussed me out. cool at the time but he ended up being my math teacher the next school year

Hit a Grandslam in the first inning and came up with the bases load in the second inning, struck out because my head got a little bit too big and I swung for the fences on every pitch.

Left the game after a few innings to go to a friends birthday party.

I don't have many memories of Little League, but I do of HS baseball last spring. I made a few diving catches and running catches in the outfield. I wish I played there the whole season, not just 1/3 of the season in OF.

This was a pretty competitive travel league. Anyway were playing a pretty good team. Their pitcher throws like a machine. Im in the box and take a fastball right in the eye. Dropped down, and couldnt see out of it for a while. Sort of scary.

A couple weeks later were now in their park, same guy pitching. First pitch: Fastball, High and in. I had to jump out of the box, or else it wouldve smoked me again. Like Holy :censored: I dont even know this guy, and hes almost killed me twice. I forget what happened, I think I drew a walk and scored later. So thats kind of good revenge :P

I got two hits in my last stinkin' season, didn't make for many good stories. :cursing:

But the year before, we were having field practice for a night game and I lost the ball in the lights. Kiunked me right on the eye and since the coach was at a loss for an ice pack he bought me an ice cold Sprite to put on my eyesocket. Good times. :D

Last game of the season this year, we are playing a Double-header against one of my friends teams. So, I get thrown out in LF because I have speed... idk what the coach is talking about, but I go out in left. So, I'll chillin out there through the first 3 innings, bottom of the 4th I'm just standing there when I see two girls walking by that I know. So, Im trying to figure out who they are when I see a bloop coming my way, so I charge and make a sliding catch to end the inning. I come up to bat in the next inning and hit a double over the CF head, one of my good friends. I then steal third, then I score on a grounder back to the pitcher.

The next game, I get a grounder down the line once again in left, I turn fire the ball dead on the money and gone the guy out going for a double. I then get called into play 2nd Base, so me and the other captain are growing frustrated with the calls the ump is giving us. The ump called pitches at our ankles strikes, so we started going back and forth Tiger Woods, well we lulled a kid to sleep on 2nd base using that and picked him off. Later in the same game, I get called into pitch and that kid hits a bloop double off of me, so we decide to try and pull a Mike Lowell. So, Im chillin around the mound for a while, then the kid starts to lead off 2nd and we tag him out, only the ump calls him safe. Brett ( the other captain) and I went getting pretty ticked, but I wound up striking out the last batter I ever faced, so it was all good.

I was the starting pitcher for my team, and in the league i was in we only played 5 innings. I no-hit the other team(not joking), plus i was the teams clean-up hitter and hit a grand slam in the 1st inning for the only 4 runs in the game.

my other memory was my last year in baseball in the year-ending tourney, my team finished last out of 5 teams, and finished the year 2-14. Wasn't a real fun year at all. I was the oldest on my team by 2 years, and at the time i was in Grade 7, and my birthday is late in the year so that made it even weirder.

I remember being the best player on the worst team. I played the greatest game of my career. I hit two home runs and went 5 for 5. The best team was too much as I think we lost something like 36 to 22. In the All-Star game, I hit a triple with a guy on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs. The guy on first ran passed the guy heading home because he turned around. That was the 3rd out game over. True story.

I still regret playing up a age bracket. I was 12 playing with 14 and 15 yr olds because my dad and coaches thought I would be too good for my age. At this point I thought I was going to majors. Well, I was DH and didn't play more than 3 innings per game that season. I ended up hating baseball and ended up quiting after one year of JV baseball.

I was the second worst player on the team. The worst player quit about midway through the season. I only had 2 hits in all of the season. But, I had 15 runs. I don't know why, everyone knew I couldn't hit well, but I was always walked. Last game of the season, there was a pop fly that i bobbled, I picked it up and threw it home to get the runner out. He was beaned right in ankle. He was really forgiving, though.

Well, it isn't baseball but,

In soccer I was on the best team in the league and I was the 2nd best on the team, I remember scoring on a drop kick while i was in net (I don't know how) and scoring from half. (fields were short) But the best thing I remember is in the semi-final game it went to shootouts, and I was the last shooter, I kicked the ball, off the right post, the crossbar, hit the ground with backspin and in. We lost in the finals. ;P

Nothing happened in little league that was all that great. The best thing that ever happened to me on a baseball field was last year of high school ball. I had never played high school baseball because I just never wanted to, but thought I'd go out this year because I was at a brand new school with no seniors. Turns out I make the team over kids who had played high school before. Basically the whole season I sit on the bench and wait until the catcher gets on base then I would go pinch run for him(I'm pretty fast, he was really slow) The last game we need to win to get into the state tournament and the second basemen gets hurt sliding back into first so I go in at second. The last inning we are up like 6-5, the bases are loaded with two outs. The kid hits the ball in the hole between second and first, I dive make the play and throw the kid out and we go to the state tournament. That was the best thing that ever happened to me in baseball.

I have not had a very eventful little league experience. Here are some things I remember:

- I once played against one of my neighbours

- I had one home run

- I had good speed so I was usually at the top of the line up.

- I mostly played second base.

- I had one save

- I helped umpire a game in my playing level when the original ump team did not arrive.

I saw, I came, I left.

I was on the Expos one year, and we finished last in the 8 team league. We played the best team in the playoffs, best of three. We won the first game before being soundly defeated in the next two, but for one afternoon we were on top of the world. :P

I was horrible. I had like 2 hits in 3 seasons, and got hit like 5 times.
