There has been a lawsuit in the past filed against Tampa Bay and Carolina (for some unknown reason) by the Raiders for a violation of design. Those colors don't have enough contrast for the red outline to do what an outline is supposed to do. Why not just make the football red? I think to make the logo "pop" better against the pewter background, you might want to consider a thin white outline outside of the red one.
