PeytonManningRocks
Super Bowl 86!!! The numbers will get very long***EDIT.....Mockba's right, it would be LXXXVIAnd on a side note, when Super Bowl 59, or Super Bowl LIX (sounds too much like 'licks'), imagine the jokes some people will have. Or when Super Bowl 1009 comes around it would be Super Bowl MIX which would be kinda interesting. Of course, the likelihood of earth still being around by SB MIX is about the same as the odds of the Lions, Cards or Texans reaching a Super Bowl by then
-kj
Actually, 86 would be LXXXVI.LXXXIIIV is an invalid numeral, as far as I know. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! AceHawk447
The term SUPER BOWL actually contains the Roman 50. Would a Roman/Arabic combo be likely for branding the 2016 game? So many possibilities, I tell ya... [447]

IceCap
One way to make a Super Bowl L logo that doesn't look goofy would be to emphasize the words "SUPER BOWL" over the Roman Numeral. Kind of like how the SB logos were designed from SBs II-XII. Puck
I'm a fan of the roman numerals, but I have a question:If you're worried about the roman numerals extending on forever, at that point, wouldn't the league just refer it to the year of the season rather than continuing on with the numbering? For example: the 2012 Super Bowl?
sc49erfan15
Keep Roman numerals...it's unique and personally, I love it.
jkrdevil
IMHO, they should just go with "2007 Super Bowl" as it's difficult to remember what SB took place during what year. What year do you put? Do you put 2006 because this is the championship for the 2006 season or do you put 2007 because that's what year the Super Bowl is in. I think that is part of the reason why they went with Roman Numerals to begin with because the Super Bowl is in a different year than the season (remember back then playoffs were pretty much done in December or first week in January). zman65
First the world tries to foist its "metric system" on America. Now they want to take away roman numerals from our Super Bowl??!?!!?Never!!!WOLVERINES!!!

TBGKon
What if once Super Bowl L/50 came around, the league put the year the game was played in in roman numerals? (ie. this years would have been MMVI or MMVII)

Alphabet Man
Aren't they English numbers?Heh, i'd rather roman numerals, it adds to the prestige. Super Bowl XCVIII (99 i think)Apart from L, they can be used pretty well, I would have assumed. twitter.com/thebrainofMatt
