Anyone Know Anything New About The Dolphins Jersey Change?

I know they are supposed to change the numbers but the Dolphins also said they were looking into making more changes. Thing is I haven't seen or heard anything and now that they're selling Joey Porter jerseys I wonder if they're gonna change them at all. Anyone hear anything?

I'm in the dark as much as you, my friend. I'm really hoping that they change the nameplate font as well. Also, unlike the Marlins, orange is a predominate feature in their logo so it would make sense to flash it. The first thing they have to do, however, is a font change.

yeah as a big Dolphins fan I love their logos/colors, so a uniform font change doesn't bother me. I kind of wish they would hurry it up though so I can order a new jersey.

From whats been posted here already its not much of a change. Apparently they're going to just shrink the navy dropshadow a bit.

As a terribly dissapointed Charger fan, I'd warn to be careful what you wish for.

Man you should be happy, that's the best NFL uni change I've seen since Denver/TB in '97. Those Chargers duds look sweet, almost enough to make a non-fan like myself want a jersey.

Changing the numbers would be a godsend. I hate them in their current form. They took a good thing a ruined it with darker aqua and navy blue. Worthless enhancement.

Brighten up the aqua, and navy, make orange number outline a little thicker and change the navy shadow to an external number outline and things should (and I said should) be better.

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here

Me too! I think the Chargers did a good thing by finding a middle ground between the Powder Blue Nation and the Navy Blue Nation. Be thankful that they didn't go in a goofy 'modern' direction with crazy-ass stripes and piping and shoulder crap and monochrome garbage like the recent Bills, Bengals, Falcons, etc. have!!

Now the Chargers can wear both blue jerseys with ease. I like 'em!

As a Packers fan, I'm just glad I don't have to buy a new jersey every 3 years.

That's your problem not ours.

Packers have by far the ugliest uni's and colors this side of Oregon.

The helmet is nice with the strips and G and all, however, the colors are rock bottom. Darkening the green and changing yellow gold to old gold would be a decent start at a upgrade.

Get on it. The 70's are over.

And stop with any mention of others who never changed like college teams Yankees etc etc... That is a case of "if it is isn't broken don't fix it".

The Packers kit IS broken and needs fixing.

Meh - he called it a kit. What does he know? That's like calling a football field or baseball diamond a pitch.

Besides, it's not like the colors were adopted in the 70s -- they've been around much longer than that. Frankly, if there were something about it that WAS broken, it's the G. I know that "Packers" doesn't lend itself to a great logo, but you could do better than just a G (especially since they play in Green Bay, not Green).

It's where I sit.

I agree. They look awful.... However, it's too late to really change much about their look, so they're stuck with it.

I'm no Packers fan, but I think they definately fit in the group of teams that have a rich tradition, nice uniforms, and shouldn't change. As much as I hate the Yankees, they are another, as well as the Canadians and Celtics (I know the Celts have some alternates, but still have same basic home and away).

The team that kills me is the Browns. Their uniforms are horrible, they have no real logo at all, and for all their supposed "tradition", last I checked they had never even played in a Superbowl...

Main Entry: tra·di·tion

Pronunciation: tr&-'di-sh&n

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English tradicioun, from Middle French & Latin; Middle French tradicion, from Latin tradition-, traditio action of handing over, tradition -- more at TREASON

1 a : an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action, or behavior (as a religious practice or a social custom) b : a belief or story or a body of beliefs or stories relating to the past that are commonly accepted as historical though not verifiable <the bulk of traditions attributed to the Prophet -- J. L. Esposito>

2 : the handing down of information, beliefs, and customs by word of mouth or by example from one generation to another without written instruction

3 : cultural continuity in social attitudes, customs, and institutions

4 : characteristic manner, method, or style <in the best liberal tradition>

No mention of Super Bowls being required to have an established tradition.

NFL history - and that of the Browns - precedes the mid-'60s, when Super Bowls began. (I'm sure you knew that, right?) Perhaps names like Jim Brown, Lou Groza, Marion Motley or Otto Graham ring a bell? If not, the nice gentlemen in Canton would too happy to enlighten you and show you all 16 enshrined Browns in the Hall of Fame (4th most of any team). By the same token, and despite them going to a single Super Bowl, I'd wager my life savings that most football fans would agree the Browns have developed more tradition over 60 seasons than certain teams that have made or even won a Super Bowl (see: Panthers, Carolina [1st season, 1995]; Buccaneers, Tampa Bay [an institution since 1976]).

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
