D-Backs loss clinches it, right?

Yes sir.

Cardinals 12, Diamondbacks 3 - Final

Your 2008 NL West Champions are the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Congrats to Joe Torre, he continues HIS postseason streak. That man has to be one of the best, if not THE best, managers in baseball.

Exactly.

You've gotta feel good for a guy like Joe Torre, who was pretty much shown the door in New York after leading the Yankees all those pennants and titles.

As a Yankee fan I am lmao a the incompentant front office the Yankees have. They should have never shown Joe the door, he was a major reason they even made the playoffs in 05, 06, and 07. I'll be rooting for the Dodgers in the playoffs.

Joe Torre has one thing that is seriously lacking in sports today which is class. I really don't like the Dodgers but I'll be rooting for them in the NL because the further they go in the playoffs the worse it makes the "brain trust" look.

The Mets just need to get in though I want to use my NLCS ticket, they cant let two collapses happen in a row.

You should have bought NLDS tickets my friend. That was your best chance at seeing a playoff game. I hope for your sake you get to use the ticket but I ain't betting on it.

If not the Red Sox, then the Dodgers, for me. A little egg on the Yankees' face wouldn't be so bad, plus Manny's still one of my favorites.

As it is now, though... I'm way too captivated by the Mets choke to even think about the playoffs. Go Cubbies and Brewers!

How do Cubs fans handle Fukudome the guy is totally not clutch already leaving 4 men on base.

As a Cubs fan, I am just fine with Lou benching him down the stretch. We've given Fukudome a pass the last couple of months based solely on the game-tying home run his hit off Gagne on the first day of the season. Aside from that, the guy has pretty much been a dud. Of course it makes me wish the Cubs had gone after Aaron Rowand to fill that huge OF gap last offseason -- but the the team has been playing winning baseball all year long, and that's all that really matters to us fans right now.

The Mets squeaked out a 7-6 win against the Cubs' benchwarmers to go up 0.5 in the Wild Card standings.

How pathetic, watching the Mets celebrate like they are after barely beating a Cubs team who were were obviously not playing to win with Soriano, Lee, Ramirez and Soto sitting on the bench tonight and not pitching Marmol Samardzija or Wood in a close game.

Anyways, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh currently are tied 1-1 in the 9th. Let's see if the Brew Crew can keep this race deadlocked.

I hate the Pirates there's a team that should be forced to sell to an owner who cares because they are uncompetitive

And because they don't try when they play the Phillies but when they play the Mets they're like the '27 Yankees. How could an owner be so inconsistent?
