Cujo
The Marlins personally hate the Mets for some reason. Are you ing serious? Were you really expecting the Marlins to lay down for the Mets this weekend?? Leave. Now!No there is deep bad blood between the Mets and MarlinsWho cares if there is so-called "bad blood" between the teams. The Marlins played to win tonight, just as they would have done had they been up against Philadelphia, Milwaukee, or any opponent. Instead of blaming the Mets bullpen (for the millionth freaking time), or the Marlins for only showing up against the Mets dude to "bad blood" (which is a total bull excuse), how about you give Florida props for not shutting it down and playing all 162 games this MLB season. Cujo
Here's a score that caught my eye.... Yankees 19, Red Sox 8.The last time New York thumped Boston by that exact score, the Red Sox went on to run the table and win the World Series.Did I get it right this time, Will? Scheduled to play 162, Thursday cancellation notwithstanding. The Mets have no one to blame for their plight but themselves. Just be careful about throwing all your strategic resources into shoring up middle relief. That seemed to be the mantra of all those Ed Wade-GMed Phillies clubs that never closed the deal. Whereas the Pat Gillick regime seems to thrive on under-the-radar "who cares" signings that wind up paying fruitful dividends over time.Disappointed that the Phillis and Mets also close out 2009 three weekends prior to season's end, per the schedules that have already been released. NJTank
Well they need a closer too (K-Rod) But they need to completely trash the bullpen if Schowenweis, Heilman and Feliciano are there on opening day it will be unacceptable. Those are the three culpritsSchowenweiss cant get anybody out in the second halfHeilman comes in and has the Im going to lose look on his faceand Feliciano is getting hit hard every time out. Joe Smith is decentStokes was ok for a while but hes a career minor league to begin withAyala was a good pick up and has not been awfulBut Heilman he is the worstHe runined 2006He sucked in 2007and he sucked harder in 2008 He is the worst piece of the Mets ever had and I cant stand him, hes the reason the Mets lost in 2006 hes heartless he sucks. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

NJTank
Big performance by Johan kept it out of the pen's hand too.Now the Mets need the Cubs to win twice and Oliver Perez to go 8 strong and the Mets to score 14 to keep it out of the pen tomorrow too. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
TFoA
Perhaps the Mets need "Carlos Voltron":I know, it's "The Onion" but still Meanwhile, defending a comfortable 600-0 lead in the top of ninth, the Mets decided to rest up Carlos Voltron by moving him to the outfield and replacing him with reliever Aaron Heilman, who lost the lead and eventually the game after giving up 618 runs to close the inning.Perfect.
