Oh :censored:

If this really DOES happen within the next hour, i'll be beside myself.

What, you can't stomach having an MVP candidate and future Hall of Fame QB on your team?

A change of environment might change Brett's attitude. I will say this, there is no doubt he has spent less time injured than any one QB on the Bucs roster, let alone combined.

It all depends, if he can pick up the system quickly and doesn't bring anything to negative to the team. The I will be relieved. I mean he is a great QB, it would be exciting to see him do good for my Buc's. He can learn the system, but can he learn it in time?

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd root for Favre if he was my QB just as I would any other Buccaneer. But I feel that at this point theres a lot more harm done by picking him up, especially at what were gonna have to give away.

- You piss off the QB you already have, who was a pro Bowler the season before

- You add the media circus that Green Bay had

- You lose a few big time draft picks

- You try to rush the playbook into Brett's head, which I'm sure he can learn, but even Favre needs time to learn it

- You basically book yourself a loss vs the Packers (This I'm sure of, the Pack are gonna come out with a VENDETTA that day)

- You scare off many future QBs

- You severely hurt team chemestry WAY too late in the season

- You, really, still have no idea if Favre will play for us, even after all this. I could definitely see him pulling a Plummer. He already stated that Tampa is "Too hot"

- You pick up a guy who a lot of fans, including me, have seen to be a selfish prick

I could go for hours...

Favre On Verge Of Joining Bucs

Posted By Ira Kaufman at Aug 06, 2008 at 12:10 AM

The Brett Favre saga is about to end with the NFL icon in pewter.

The Tribune has learned Favre will not stand in the way of a trade from Green Bay to Tampa Bay and the deal is likely to be finalized within 24 hours.

The chances of the trade unraveling are remote and Favre has indicated to the Bucs directly that he is willing to change teams after 16 years of growing his legend in Green Bay.

The Packers, unwilling to deal the 3-time league MVP to an NFC North rival, view the Bucs as a compromise in this ugly impasse. The Bucs view Favre as an upgrade on QB Jeff Garcia, who made the Pro Bowl in 2007 while leading Tampa Bay to an NFC South title.

Once it became clear to Favre that he wasn?t welcome back in Green Bay, he became more flexible in terms of accepting a trade to clubs outside the division. The Bucs have been interested in Favre since last month, when he announced he wanted to play again.

The Bucs could make the trade announcement official by Wednesday, but Favre will have little time to learn Coach Jon Gruden?s complex system because the Bucs open the regular season Sept. 7 at division rival New Orleans.

 My head hurts. I've never been so torn.

Jeff Garcia is about to get screwed over once again. If Favre goes to the Bucs, if I were Jeff Garcia, I'd demand a trade immediately.

He is more than welcome back as a 49er.

If I'm The Bucs I am all over that trade for Favre. What an upgrade.

Garcia is a Pro Bowler...I just don't see it being as THAT big of an upgrade.

He got screwed leaving the 49ers, now he's about to get screwed in Tampa. I hope he demands out, stat.

Yeah, the QB position wasn't a weakness for Tampa, Favre's presense won't improve the team that much....

I wonder what all Green Bay will be getting for Favre. Think one of Tampa's QB's goes to the Packers (seeing as how there isn't much game experience on their roster)?

I will say this, the only reason Garcia made the Pro Bowl is because Favre backed out. So in reality, we may have TWO of last years NFC Pro Bowl QBs :P

Favre + Bucs = more picks & sacks for the Saints D

Fixed that for you... :D

Seriously, with last season as a possible exception, Favre has not set the world on fire for a long, long time. How many soul-crushing picks has he thrown? And many of those were the "what the hell was THAT?" kind that would get a rookie cut if he heaved them up for grabs like Favre does. Bad move for the Bucs.

Packers are looking for draft picks. They didn't go after a vet QB before, and they like what they see from the three in camp.

My favorite team is the Chiefs. But my second favorite has alway been Tampa Bay, way back to the days of Vinny Testaverde and Erict Rhett, and all those horrible seasons they enjoyed.

Now, I'm seriously considering resigning my Bucs fandom. I'm not a Favre fan, never have been, never will be. Him going to TB really makes me sick. But whatcha gonna do, Gruden obviously has a hard-on for this guy and it looks like he will get his wish.

Maybe I should start going for the Rams............oh :censored: that......

I had to scan this from The Sporting News from a few weeks back:

favre.jpg

The number font is wrong on The Ravens jersey. :D

That's what made me say "Stupid Sporting News. Ravens haven't even said a damn thing to the Packers, AND they got the number font wrong. Idiots." when I first read the article.

But it's really looking like that photoshop on the right is going to become reality in a matter of hours.

And I for one will commence gut wrenching if that does go down.

I cannot for the life of me stomach Brett :censored:ing Favre in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniform. Why, Jon?

F***KING WHY???

I'll say this much: if this does go down, the Saints automatically win the NFC South, in my opinion.

Oh--and Gruden AND Allen need to go. Two freakin' YEARS ago.
