Well it's official. Gruden and Allen need to be shown the door at the end of this season. To put Garcia through all of that crap and to STILL fail to get the deal done is completely and totally unacceptable. Tampa has done nothing but KILL morale since the beginning of the off season and they sure finished it with a bang. I'm not gonna pull a Tnak over this, but they certainly made it extremely hard to have high levels of success both talent wise and mentally.

lmao! Just yesterday you were pissy about them being close to getting Favre. Now you're pissy about them NOT getting Favre. John Kerry would be proud of your flip-flop through this thread.

Not gonna lie, I got the whole new car sense outta this. Even though I know I didn't need it, and even though it'd be a b*tch to pay off in the long run, it's still fun to think about it being yours. The more I thought about it being a real possibility, the more I wanted it.

Thing that really upsets me though is just how many times Tampa has completely alienated really great players for whatever reason.

Theres a reason they all left unhappy...

I love Garcia, and even though the more I thought about it the more I thought we HAD to land Favre, I also felt terrible for him. But it's one thing to tell a guy who's done great for you, we don't want you, we want someone better. But its an entirely different thing to do all that and NOT land your guy. That and considering Tampa has the largest cap space in football and the biggest name they brought in was Allen "I got knocked on my ass in pre game hype up drills" Faneca and an old Warrick Dunn, losing out on Jared Allen, Anquan Boldin (long shot), Chad Johnson, and NOW Brett Favre? This is getting hard to swallow.

I just hope Tampa has sense enough to offer Garcia the extension he wants, if as nothing more than a peace offering.

But I will say this. Congrats Jets. I hope you guys really do well, and beat those damn Pats, for EVERYONES sake!! DirtyCurty called me up as this happened to talk about it (sorry man, give me a few hours lol), I know he's been die hard his whole life. I'd love to see NYJ do really well for his sake.

Anybody who's ever gone to Jets camp know if they have bicycle racks at the camp? I figure they might cause its on the Hofstra campus, but I'm not sure. Plus I ride my bike around every weekday as part of my summer/off-season excercise and I don't have my drivers license yet.

What happens to all the Madden Covers produced? Will he be wearing a Jets uni on the front now?

EDIT: Greg beat me to it.

I would imagine that EA is now forced to come out with dual covers as they did with their NCAA Football franchise this year.

I could see that or do what they did with NHL 2004 and Dany Heatley after his car crash in which Dan Snyder died they quickly changed the cover and put Joe Sakic on it.

Are the Heatley covers worth anything? I have one and have wondered if there was any "market value" to it.

Sorry Bucfan, but I can't say I feel all that sorry for you. Incase you have forgotten, Tampa Bay in fact won a Super Bowl just five years ago, and to me, that's all that really comes down to when you're a fan.

Yeah, getting Favre is great if you're a Jet fan since we have had little to cheer about since the 1968 season. I'm sorry, but I would gladly trade having Brett Favre as our quarterback for a Super Bowl ring.

(BTW, I called it... The Favre trade DID turn us against eachother! :P)

Not to sure i know i had a Heatley version but i haven't asked that question back to Favre what in return do the packers get i heard it all depended on how the 2 teams do this season

If they are, then I think I could stand to make a quick buck. ^_^

EA's gotta be pissed.

I wonder if the covers with Favre in a Packers uni will become collector's items?

Who said he plays a down, injury or his arrogance may still be in play. He is really coming off as a "Rick with a 'p'" to me and since I never thought he was a good as Elway, Marino, or Staubach, I am glad this little saga is over.

I do know this. Jets go to the Raiders on Oct. 19. I'll be there.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN suggested on the air not long ago that the Packers pulled the trigger on the trade of quarterback Brett Favre to the Jets even though Favre preferred being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If that?s accurate, then this thing might not be over.

Great.

Stay tuned.

Hmm, how long will Favre remain with the Jets?

Green Bay wasn't going to trade him to Minnesota or Chicago. I'm not watching ESPN and haven't read anything about the trade and all the trade specifics, but the Jets have no obligation due to the Packers....do the Jets dare turn around and trade Favre to Minnesota or Chicago, knowing that both of them covet his services, and could get some really good compensation? Or was there a stipulation in the trade that prohibits the Jets from trading Favre to any team in the Packers' division?

Chris Mortensen failed to report how much he has been slurping Brat Favre these last few weeks.

There was a lot of talk about the Packers including a "poison pill" in the trade basically stating that if Brat's new team wanted to turn around and trade him, the Pack would receive an additional level of compensation so steep that it would effectly cripple that team for years to come.

I don't know if they included a poison pill, but I honestly wouldn't have agreed to a trade without that clause if I'm running the Pack.
