What? He would've been greedy if he accepted the Packers offer to say retired, think about it. Another brilliant post by NoHoJoe.

Woody Johnson is greedy. He does not have any knowledge of the game of football. He is only an heir to the Johnson & Johnson Empire.

As expected, Chad Pennington is now a FA. Who picks him up, and another question, who cares?

Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, Miami, Minnesota and San Francisco could all use some help at QB.

I'll take a shot in the dark and say Chad goes to the Niners.

I'm not sure that was a humanoid response.

I could see him in KC but it seems that the Chiefs are ready to usher in Brodie Croyle

I heard the Dolphins were interested.

The Vikings too.

Jesus, man, just stick with the Shea trivia and irrelevant radio format flips. You're way out of your element here.

And I see you've added on in the post above. Lovely.

Scalpers' ticket prices for the Jets' 9/14 home opener against the Patriots were probably already into the stratosphere for obvious reasons. Now they have to be going into low Earth orbit at least.

A bunch of us bought tickets in the upper deck for the Jets Niners game last night. One group got em for like 30 bucks, the other scored em for 5.

After checking this morning on tickets for a friend, those same tickets were as high as 95 bucks. Yikes.

Since when is knowledge of the sport a prerequisite for team ownership? Isn't that why you hire experienced people to handle the team management?

Also, unlike the Giants the Jets trained at Hofstra which is on Long Island, in NEW YORK (although they are moving the facility soon).

The New York Jets introduce Brett Favre.

favre_nyj2.jpg

You mean the New JERSEY Jets, since they have not played in Flushing Queens since December of 1983!

They're HQ in Hempstead and they at least attempted to stay here in NY but the West Side Stadium plan fell through. Not to mention, East Rutherford's a suburb of New York, so its fine.

So you were pissed when it looked like Brat was going to end up in Tampa. Now you're pissed that he won't?

So Brat goes from Green Bay to Gang Green...nice. Most likely, Chad Pennington is going to be released since Kellen Clemens is younger, cheaper, and more used to riding the pine. Manginious and The Brat...this is going to be an exciting season.

So...who wins more games in 2008. Jets with Favre or Pack without him? I'm going with the Pack (10-6 vs. 8-8 for the Jets).

No way, dude...this was all Brat's fault. He kept crying wolf...it finally caught up to his bitch ass.
Chris Mortensen failed to report how much he has been slurping Brat Favre these last few weeks.
There was a lot of talk about the Packers including a "poison pill" in the trade basically stating that if Brat's new team wanted to turn around and trade him, the Pack would receive an additional level of compensation so steep that it would effectly cripple that team for years to come.

I don't know if they included a poison pill, but I honestly wouldn't have agreed to a trade without that clause if I'm running the Pack.

Brat made his bed...now he needs to lay in the big ass piss stain he also created.
Since all we're supposed to talk about is Brat Favre, these two fit really well:
Correction:

B! R! A! T! BRAT BRAT BRAT!

Sorry, had to go there. :P

Joe Namath is the only QB in the history of the NFL more overrated than Brat Favre (not to say that Brat isn't great, but he isn't in the top 10 QBs of all time, let alone the greatest ever).
Second, EVERYONE is not pounding Favre here. I would venture that there is a plurality of support on Favre's side, even on this board. Combine that with the habitual slurping that Brat enjoys from members of the national media, and the kid gloves treatment he receives at the hands of the adoring local press who bend over backward to worship at the feet of St. Brett of Kiln.

...

The first time he asked about coming back, the Pack jumped at the chance to welcome him. Brat waffled yet again, and changed his mind, opting to stay retired. The Pack moved on. They had to. Of course, they should have known he would have wanted to come back. Brat was always leaning toward retirement at first. Then as it got closer to the draft (or minicamp, depending on the offseason), he decided to play again. I don't think it's unreasonable to default to calling it quits after a long, grueling season that ended in disappointment.

...

You say rookies cut during camp are shown more respect than Bret. I say that rookies cut during camp show more respect to the organization on their way out the door than Brat has shown throughout this process. He had a contract. He should have just shut up and played. That's what we say about all the other athletes, right? Therefore, I will continue to call him Brat because he is behaving like a petulant child -- sulking, lashing out, throwing his little temper tantrum because he didn't get his way. I don't mean to disparage the man. I don't know him, and won't ever, but his behavior warrants the title. Plus it's cutesy. We love cutesy.

So, Brat it is. We could call him much worse, you know.

Ladies and gentlemen, the most annoying trend on CCSLC since (and possibly including) the Shea Stadium Trivia threads... Are you going to continue this until someone pats you on the back for your clever manipulation of letters? That and your sig (also a similar-sounding phrase, with the bonus of the fact that nobody cares about your political views) really show your wit...

Saying that Favre isn't among the Top 10 QBs of all time is the only remotely laughable thing about any of these posts.

Also, while I side with the Packers in this one, this story has been mostly behind closed doors with little developments, which in turn were few and far between. So for the details, no one knows how he's actually behaved. On the whole, his behavior isn't childish... think about his goal, which is to play football. The Packers blocked that, so he had to get out of it.

Saying that Favre isn't among the Top 10 QBs of all time is the only remotely laughable thing about any of these posts.

... and yet, I'm sure someone can argue that there really are 10 QBs that were better than Favre.

Otto Graham

Roger Staubach

Joe Montana

Tom Brady

John Elway

Dan Marino

Bart Starr

Johnny Unitas

Fran Tarkenton

Dan Fouts

That's not to say these 10 really are better than Favre and Favre doesn't belong in the top 10, but I think people can make good arguments about any past QB that can be considered better than Favre and the list is longer than 9 QBs

I saw, I came, I left.
