Brett Favre

My respect level for Favre has dipped to an all time logo. Over the past few years, it's been "oh yeah, I'll play, or maybe I won't, i don't know" but to finally make a commitment like "retirement" and then "come back". World's biggest PUBLICITY STUNT!

heh, seeing as I am in the state I am, not much of a shock...the fox station here covered Favre's plane landing in GB...as well as Favre driving away from the airport afterwards...and at the scrimmage they spotted his wife (yup, he was there. not on the field, but he was there). Yeah, Rodgers is walkin after his contract's up...I'll be shocked if he sticks around. Hell, I wouldn't blame him if he asks for a trade (or his release) before the preseason's halfway done.

McCarthy's post-scrimmage session was nice. He seemed pissed, then was emphatic that nothing has been promised to Brett. He alluded to Brett's flip-flopping, then said the public would be informed of the plan following a meeting tomorrow.

This crap is just getting started.

Damn...all that time.

Why in the :censored: couldn't they have reached this decision months ago? As much as I no longer like this God complex having prima donna, he's the best quarterback they have and the Pack should ride him as far as he'll take them. Brett Favre should be Green Bay's QB, not Minnesota's, Chicago's, Tampa's, or New York's. The Pack enabled him and gassed him up to bigger than life, so they need to be the ones to deal with crap.

I can't wait until the offseason when Favre retires and comes back another 3-4 times.

I think the disruption hes caused is already the curse at work

That's the truth. They should just make a website and a channel all about Brett Farves latest.

They already have 'em...ESPN and ESPN.com

Yea, I know. What I find stupid is the Owner said that he had no idea that Brett Farve would come back. :cursing: Everybody knew Brett Farve was going to come back.

Aaron Rodgers could probably go to a few teams and won't get treated like he is here also does this mean the Madden Curse is back in effect?

The Madden curse I forgot about that. This should be intresting.

If Favre misses a start/game (whichever active record he's holding right now), does that qualify as another victim of this Madden curse?

Yea, thats good enough. Usually it's injury though, you never know.

Only if his missing a start/game was the direct result of an injury.

If I'm Aaron Rogers, I slap Brett Favre right in his face, in front of the whole team.

Seriously...

I feel bad for Rodgers. The team is caving to an irrational minority of unemployed losers who've convinced themselves that Brett is the second coming of Christ and will accept no one but #4 as the Packers QB. After being shunned by Brett for 3 years and promised the starting job, he deserves better. If I were him, I'd demand a trade.

Brett was in Green Bay long before anyone in the current administration got there. They've been patiently trying to get rid of him for years.

Come on, you guys. Brett's a gunslinger. just having fun out there, playing the game the way it's meant to be played.

Since we'll hear that about 25 times this season (after every pick he throws) I thought I'd get it out of the way now. :D

Seriously, he's the selfish jerk in all of this. He whines about the Packers "pushing him" for a decision, why wouldn't they? If he wasn't thinking only of himself, he'd realize they NEED a quick decision because the entire direction of the franchise depends on it. He's been jerking the chains of the organization,. his teammates (especially that poor bastard Rodgers), the fans, the media, and all of us who can't help but hear about this crap every minute of every day...

I hope he's horrible this year so maybe he'll go away for good.

Exactly. They had been held hostage by the Annual Brett-Favre "Will He Or Won't He" Indecision Tour for four years. Can't blame them for being sick of it....however, EVERYONE knew Brett Favre was coming back. Hell, Peyton Manning didn't even send Favre the happy retirement letter that he sends to great quarterbacks as they leave the NFL. If that wasn't a sign, nothing was. :P

Oh, and you forgot to mention Brett's child like enthusiasm for the game...

So what are the odds that Gruden pulls some tricks and winds up with Green Bay's other QB before the season kicks off?

So...Brett retires and then wants to come back. Forget about all the other drama. That's the bottom line.

Michael Jordan

Magic Johnson

Reggie White

Lance Armstrong

Roger Clemens

George Foreman

Bob Cousy

All athletes that retired, only to come back. Big deal. This happens all the friggin' time. Besides the "they said, he said" crap, that's really all this is. Why is he so selfish?

Thing is, it's basically as if Brett Favre didn't retire. He just skipped the OTAs and minicamps, basically. It's officially a 'retirement,' but who are we kidding?

How much money has been taken out of Aaron Rogers' pocket due to Favre's selfishness. Dude would likely have either already gotten an extension, or scored a big free agent contract this offseason if not for Favre's indecisiveness. If the Packers knew Favre would've been playing through 2008, they wouldn't have drafted Rogers, who would have been picked somewhere else and had his opportunity. Now, dude is going to be a free agent with zero resume behind him.

Forget about slapping, if I'm him, I stab Favre in the throat with a broken beer bottle. Management too, since they're as much to blame.
