BBTV
If I'm that dude, I'm pulling a Chad Ocho Cinco and legally changing my last name to something awesome, just until my MLB career is over. Actually, he should just change his last name to Texas - then there'd definitely be no doubt where they play. slapshot
Funny, MLB's store shows it like this:In "MLB:09 The Show" Saltalamacchia's jersey lettering is the ultra-condensed type. Very squished, but legible, and fits across the standard arc without extending down to the armpits. JayJaxon
Angels will be wearing this patch for AdenhartI wonder if they will retire that number...I don't know if they would retire it. But I couldn't imagine another Angel wanting to wear it. It's really sad what happened to that kid.
DallasSports
Angels will be wearing this patch for AdenhartI wonder if they will retire that number...Most likely not. Take Darryl Kile. A 10 year vet who put up good numbers and even threw a no-hitter, yet the Rockies nor Cards retired his number.

Pelle Lindbergh is an example of this with the Flyers. Have the Cards issued 57 since Kile's death? Have the Cards issued 57 since Kile's death?Leafs have retired #5 for Bill Barilko, the Penguins have #21 for Michel Briere, Sabres #2 for Tim Horton, North Stars retired #21 for Bill Masterton, Montreal retired #7 for Howie Morenz, ... just off the top of my head... so it wouldn't be out of the question to retire the number because it had been done for Barilko and Briere, two very young players who had not spent much time in the League. njmeadowlanders
I know the Nets retired 3 for Drazen Petrovic.I would think it would be a non-issue situation rather than a retired number.

FiddySicks
Tonight in their home opener vs the mariners, the A's will be wearing Oakland Police Department hats, and will wear OPD patches on their right sleeves for the rest of the season.
